Eligibility and Fee Structure of UPES School of Law Dehradun

It was overall a good five-year experience in UPES School of Law. It is because of its beautiful locality between the mountains. The place, the vibe, infrastructure, academics, and events, all are good. It was overall a good experience. The factors, which made me, this one were the locality, academic reputation, availability of a number of specialization & courses, and its academic integrity.

The course chose by me was BBA.LLB, which is a five year integrated course. Students who are enthusiastic, motivated, and want to go in corporate Law field can pursue this course. It provides a variety of other career option as well. During at the time, admission was through 3 different methods: the merit based of 12th percentage, college's own entrance exam, or by CLAT score. Admission process is not a difficult. The exams are held 2 times in a single semester, which is midterm and end term examination. The academics focus more on preparing us for real world.

The total fee of my course at the time of my admission was around 18 Lakh, which includes all the charges such as tuition, admission, registration, and other technical fees. The college even provides different scholarships for the students such as Girl Child Scholarship (around 20%), Uttarakhand domicile concession (around 33%), and merit based. the student are having the financial aid such as education loans.

The faculty members are well educated and experienced from different fields. The faculty in Law courses have people with background of lawyers from district high court and supreme court as well, Judiciary, Barrister, Working Professions, other professionals of different Law firms. All the faculties have their own style and method but the focus is upon leading students and preparing them for the real life challenges over the book and academics. Due to wide knowledge and experience, they have their own style and methods of problem solving which is unique. The student to teacher ratio would be around 10:1. The faculties share good bonding with the students and are ready to help students beyond academics.

Placement cell is helpful and supportive for the students who opt to be placed from the campus. It is easy for students to reach out to placement cell for counseling and career help. Placements drive happen in college various campaigns and workshops are set up for the student. Renowned companies such as TCS, Khaitan, and many more visit campus for recruitment. The average package of the college goes around 3 LPA.

UPES School of Law provides residential facilities for the students in campus as well. The rooms are available in options of single, double, and triple sharing with attached washrooms and ACs as well. Boys and girls’ hostels are separate. Food is of good quality with wide variety of cuisines in the menu. Hygiene is also taken care. Hostel fees go around Rs. 1, 70,000 to Rs. 2, 20,000 depending upon your choice of rooms.

It has a beautiful campus between the mountains in a pretty location. The classrooms are quite big enough for 70 students and have digital learning tools. All the academic blocks of different courses have their own auditoriums. There are 2 libraries in campus with access to digital library as well. The college is having all the facilities and has special focus on sports.

The college life experience is good. The crowd of UPES School of Law is a diverse crowd due to its location. The college has number of clubs and committees focusing on different interests. I was part of extracurricular committees, which takes care of external events. Annual fests are also held includes sports as well as cultural events. Last month we had our annual fest ‘Urja’ in which different artists were called. My overall experience as good and enjoyable.
