Manipal University Jaipur: Academics, Placements, and More

At Manipal University Jaipur, I got to know why this institute is so popular among the students in North India. This is a complete liberal and secular university, which aims to cater the needs of every student. It has a vibrant campus and free learning atmosphere that makes the university life a par above the rest. It has about 16-17,000 students of now in 2025 despite such a big population, it is very easy to fit in. I personally got familiar with the people and the campus in just about 2-3 weeks. People here are friendly and the faculties are helpful when it comes to helping their students. The main thing that attracts the students is the campus life, which is very diverse and happening at the same time. One of the reasons I chose this university is due to its campus, which I believe is one of the most hip and happening campus in the northern part of India. One of the other main things that make it stand out from the other universities in Jaipur is the variety of students that you will find here. It has students from all across India, mainly in the technical courses, but also in other such courses that are provided by the university.

I'm currently pursuing Masters Of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, and one of the reasons I enrolled in this course is because of my interest in broadcast media and how it works in such a creative way to disseminate information to the audience. The entry requirements for this university are passed in 10+2 for bachelors and a relevant degree in bachelors for masters courses. While some courses like B.Tech, MBA etc. require entrance test scores for gaining admission in the university. The admission process of the university is very simple and structured in such a way that it makes it easy for both the student and parents to understand. The admission cell provides guidance here. Exams are conducted semester wise with dual and tri-semester both. The academics here acts in such a way that it prepares the student for real life challenges such as higher studies or corporate sector, it provides both practical as well as theoretical knowledge to the student.

The fee structure is different for different courses and varies from stream to stream. The fee, however, is on the higher side for courses such as B.Tech, but can be waivered off with scholarships which are provided to the deserving candidates. One of the major setbacks is the course fees and the number of students who are pursuing the particular course; this makes it harder for candidates to get better placements in the future. But, other non technical courses like Arts and Commerce courses are much more on the liberal side of the fee chart. This makes it easier for them to join, while staying close to home.

The faculty of my course has mentors from different sectors of Journalism and Mass Communication; it includes our director, who has worked in big organizations such as All India Radio and ETV Bharat. Our HOD has worked as journalist at centre level and has specialization in news. My faculty has both senior journalists as well as research-based scholars who aim to make a change in the society. The faculty is very much helpful and has good connections with the industry. They seem to be closely working on changing trends and how to implement them in our syllabus which makes them relevant with ever-changing time

The Placements here in Manipal Jaipur recorded on the database with relevant information. However, the ground reality might differ as the placements here are different for different streams, they are above average in today's time and might not par upto the industry standards that are framed in today's time. Some students have achieved higher packages in the technical courses, but it makes them an exception from the rest. The last years’ data show the average package being 25 LPA.

The Hostel here is one the most memorable experience for the students as Good Host Spaces (GHS) is considered in one of the most beautiful hostels in Asia, It has different blocks, which are synchronized in different colours, mainly red, purple, orange and yellow. The Hostel has a lot of different outlets and shops across the blocks, which has everything, food, salons, cafes etc. It has separate blocks for both girls and boys with security on each side. It also has parks and courts for sports and other outdoor activities. The hostel fees is 2 LPA, although high, it proves to be worth every penny.

The infrastructure of the campus is very alive, following the colour scheme of Red, Orange and Yellow in most of the parts of the campus. It is situated in the outskirts of Jaipur, yet it provides every facility to the student, it has different labs such as print lab, production lab, bio labs etc. It has all the required sports facilities with all the equipments. My favorite thing about the infrastructure is the dome building which is the highlight of the university. This is the place that can be seen from a mile away. The different blocks which are AB1, AB2, AB3 and now AB4, which is under construction. These different blocks have different streams and labs in them, making it much more organized for so many students.

The Campus life in Manipal Jaipur is nothing short of amazing for me so far, I have experienced a lot of new things which I never got to experience before, the crowd is friendly and consists of people from different parts of India. Clubs such as Humans Of Manipal, Litmus, Convergence, IEEEE etc are very much diverse in nature and gives opportunities to every student join and work alongside them to conduct events. I worked as junior public relations manager in humans of Manipal club, where it made me learn a lot of things in the field of public relations and gave me a practical approach towards life. The Fest like ‘Oneiros’ are a sight for sore eyes as it make the experience of university a cut above the rest. It has different events in which students can participate and earn prizes by wining. All the fests here usually end with DJ or musical night with a guest singer or band. Overall, the college life here is amazing and is very much aligned with ever changing trends of the Indian educational system.
