Xavier's College Jaipur's Hostels: AC / Non-AC Rooms, Mess, and More

St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur promises one a great future. This college has everything that a student needs to shine, perform and build a future of excellence. The college provides numerous activities that include studies, sports, event management, various competitions and committees to teach us about teamwork, co-operation and gain experience. Teachers, staff and faculty of the college itself makes it professional apart from the working environment. The teachers are very helpful regarding studies and doubts and are always ready to help at every step and process. Its fee is very less in comparison to other colleges and the facilities it is providing. It keeps on improving and provides additional courses at a high discounted price, which is why you should chose it over any other college.

I choose BCA (Bachelors In Computer Application) in this college and it has turned out to be an excellent decision. Every single teacher in the campus is experienced and they always try to implement the same experience on students. It has excellent facilities of computers and have four labs with every important applications installed in the computers itself. They conduct atleast two lab classes a day and let students perform what they have studied in theory. If you are looking to enroll in this particular course just go for it. Admission criteria for applying in this course are to have minimum 60% marks obtained in your 12th class regardless of your stream. It has a semester wise exam system and is affiliated with RU (Rajasthan University). Internal examinations (CIA) are always conducted before the main examination. It gives us hands on experience, which is provided by very less institutions worldwide. It also prepares us for real life challenges that we would face in our future professions.

The total fee of my course BCA is Rs. 2,20,100. They take about Rs. 21,200 during registration out of which Rs. 10,000 is admission fee, Rs. 3,000 is alumni fee and the rest of the is amount is for computer and library maintenance. The fee structure is divided according to the semester system because of which it has two installments in one year. The course has a span of three years so there are total of 6 installments divided into 2 in a year. First installment consists of Rs. 33,500 whereas the second installment is for Rs. 32,800. Certificate course fee, development fund and other facilities are included in this particular amount only. College also provides scholarship tests and provides scholarship based on attendance, brilliance in sports and extra time being spend by an individual in the library.

Every single faculty member of the college is experienced and is very approachable to clear any sort of doubts and problems. Especially in a complex course like BCA. They always try new methods of teaching along with their old school type of explaining. They often use blackboards during the theory class and switch to PPT's in lab classes. Quizzes and tests are often conducted in the classes itself and they are always open to clear any sort of doubts related to studies. They are very understanding as even if any personal issue occurs and the student is not being able to attended classes or exam they understand their situation and grants them leave accordingly. Throughout my two years span in the college, I have built a good and strong relation with faculty members and everyone.

St. Xavier’s college Jaipur does have a placement cell, which not only provides placements after course completion, but also provides internship opportunities during the ongoing course. It attempts to make students passing out of college more employable and ready for the challenges that may come along with the opportunities in the real world. There are regular workshops and sessions that takes place inside the college campus regarding placements and internship facilities. Many CEO's and developers conduct these sessions to share their experience and help students to guide them into better future. Many companies visit the college for recruitment such as- HP, Amazon, BYJU's and many more. The highest package that was offered by the recruiters was 7 LPA and the average package lies about 5 LPA.

The college does have a girl’s hostel that is located on the top floor of their campus only and the construction of boy’s hostel is already underway. The girls hostel consists of both AC and non-AC rooms and is being shared by maximum 3 people. Rooms that are non-AC are being provided with water coolers. Wi-Fi, laundry and security facilities are available for everyone and furniture is provided separately for everyone. The mess food is provided 3 times a day, where cleanliness and hygiene are top priorities. Taste and health is been taken care of along with the varieties in food that keeps changing on a daily basis. The total hostel fees lies between Rs. 50,000- Rs. 60,000 depending on the room selected. Hostel works on a strict and consistent timing as the doors open from 7:00 AM and closes at 9:30 PM.

College infrastructure is as beautiful and well maintained as one can imagine. It has well-equipped classrooms, an Arrupe library that has been awarded, big sport grounds and a good-looking girls hostel. The campus is quite big and is located near Nevta Dam, Nevta, Jaipur. It has big classrooms that could atleast contain 100 students at once. It has a library, which is of two floors and all sorts of fiction, and educational books are available in it. It also has different labs for example psychology labs, computer labs, biology labs etc. Conference hall, auditorium with big capacity and many blocks are also there. College canteen has a variety of food with affordable prices along with a medical room to help students. There are atleast 50 to 70 buses ready to assist students with high security and cameras installed everywhere. My personal favorite part about the infrastructure is the entrance/front portico that gives it a royal look. The best thing about the infrastructure for me is the library that helps me regarding my course and provides computers so that I can practice on it.

My overall college experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. It has been just like what I expected before taking the admission. Study life has been smooth thanks to the teachers and faculties. Many new friendships and relations with people has been formed that feels like a lifetime. There are many clubs in college for example Dance club, Music club, Photography club, Arts club and many more. I also have been a part of clubs during the college fests. There are many engagement activities conducted by college such as ethnic day, scribbling day, engagement day with seniors and many more. Every single department gets their department fest annually and a combine fest of all departments that lies atleast 3 days and is called ZEST. Every single festival is celebrated in the college campus, which also promotes equality and secularism. If you will join St. Xavier’s you will not be anybody but a somebody.
