My View of UTU Dehradun

Overall Rating
The major factors for approaching this university were, it is a government-funded university plus it has a campus institute named as Women Institute of Technology, which is a girl's university. Additional to this, the fee structure of the university is very affordable. The university is located in the mountains of Dehradun, which is why there is great weather always.
 

Academics Rating
The admission process of the university is mainly done on the basis of your JEE score after which you have to apply for Uttarakhand counselling. Usually the cut-off of the university goes very low. After the online counselling, you need to visit the university for fees submission. The exams are held thrice a semester, among which two are the sessional tests comprising of 30 marks each, while one is end semester exam of 150 marks.
The tuition fee of the university is Rs. 56,000 per semester which includes additional fees but excludes hostel charges as currently the hostels are not available in university premises.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculties are contract faculties, who only last for a semester and are changed after that on the basis of feedback given by the students. Majority of faculties are very friendly and supportive in nature; they help you in your academic and personal issues. These faculties are highly qualified from renowned universities such as IITs, NITs, MITs etc. The classroom also consists of smartboards for faculties to teach with the help of PPTs.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The university consists of all the necessary facilities required by the university students, such as centralized library with availability of books of each subject, computer labs for programming/coding, etc. The university also has two cafeterias, which serve delicious food at affordable price range and one lounge area. Sports facilities such as cricket/football ground, basketball/volleyball courts, TT, chess etc. are given by the university.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is very hectic, with lot of struggles from competing to achieving something. The university has 5 clubs including literacy club, for those having interest in debate and speaking, cultural club for dancing and singing part of any events, sports club, technical club and eco club. Other than this, many engagement activities such as hackathons are also conducted.

    Uttarakhand Technical University is the main university in Uttarakhand from which the 26 other university are affiliated. The campus is really beautiful and surrounded with greenery. We have all facilities like canteen, student lounge, Wi-Fi, etc. I will definitely refer this university to all the freshers out there who are thinking of taking admission in B.Tech Computer Science or Cyber Security....
