Exploring Campus Life in KMC New Delhi

Overall Rating
Kirori Mal College is a great place for Bachelor studies in the North campus of University of Delhi. The college is one of the top colleges for Science and the NIRF ranking is pretty high too. The college provides you facilities like gymnasium, GCR and BCR (Commons rooms) equipped with good indoor games and stuff. The societies of the college live up to their reputation. All in all it is a good experience to be here.
 

Academics Rating
Kirori mal College is one of the best colleges to study Physics, I believe. For admission you're required to write CUET UG exam and apply for admission in DU portal using CUET scores, then an online counselling process occurs which includes choice filling, and allotment. The college follows NEP’22 regulations, thus having 2 semester exams per year, You'll be writing 7 papers with 4 cores in the first sem and it would change as you progress.
The fees would be around Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 16,000/- depending on your course and category of admission. The college offers financial aid for meritorious students at the end of each year. There is also need based fee waiver through grievance admission.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are well qualified for their position. Some might be an exception to this. Some faculties are active involved in research project and they are actively contributing to various societies and departmental activities too. The faculty is lenient, so you would not find much pressure on grades and attendance here. The teacher student ratio is good too.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell called ‘Avenue’ in the college, it helps students to secure internships during the studies and placements after education too.
 

Hostel Rating
The college has a boys hostel with occupancy around 180 students. The hostel food is one of the best you can find around the campus. Hostel fee is around Rs. 30,000/- per semester. The hostel is pretty lenient and would feel like a second home. I'm myself a hosteller, they offer triple sharing and double sharing rooms. It is equipped with a very active student union, washing machine facilities, gym access and proper hygiene maintained.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has two blocks, the main block and the science block. The college is a government college, so for a government college, the infrastructure is pretty good, For Physics, you'll have lecture theatres instead of classrooms; these lecture theatres are pretty big and spacious. Library is good with 3 big reading rooms equipped with ACs. There's a seminar hall and an academic auditorium and the main auditorium is under renovation right now. The canteen is fine, but requires some improvisations. The food is decent. The labs are pretty good. We have a ground, a dedicated basketball, badminton and volleyball court too.
 

Campus Rating
Since the college is in the North campus, we are well connected with other colleges, and it is easy to commute between colleges. College crowd is pretty diverse and good. There are many clubs focusing on various aspects. We have an annual fest named ‘Renaissance’ and each department would usually celebrate their own Freshers, Farewell and an annual fest. The campus life is good and pretty interesting.

    It has been nothing but a wonderful experience at Kirori Mal College, which is by the way considered one of the best UG colleges. Trust me it does deserve this title. It secured 9th NIRF ranking in 2024, which make me proud that I am able to study in one of the top colleges of India. I chose to attend this college mainly because of vast exposure and networking opportunities available here.     I Think my College, Kirorimal College New Delhi, is one of the finest College of India which offers multiple courses with such renowned faculties and their experience.
