Exploring Campus Life in AMU Aligarh

Overall Rating
To be very honest, joining AMU Aligarh wasn't really my choice it was my parent's dream and I went along. Initially I found the place dull but over time, things changed when I lived in PG and in shared room secretly with my friends. It was so fun, chaotic, and full of memories. This University will help you grow in life. With time you will find friends, your rhythm, and hidden opportunities. If you're willing to work hard, this University will reward you.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.A (Hons.) in History. My love for History was shaped early while listening to my father's stories and that passion grew beyond religious history to European, African, Indian, and ancient civilizations. For admission, students must have scored at least 50% in their 10th and 12th boards. Students are also required to qualify the entrance exam. The admission process can be quite exhausting. The University conducts 3 sessional tests and final exams which are of 70 marks. Overall the academics of this University are strong and it will prepare you for real life
The fee of AMU Aligarh is very affordable around Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 11,000/- per year including hostel fee.
 

Faculty Rating
There are many teachers in my department and they are very supportive and friendly. Most of them have also done their education from AMU Aligarh. They use traditional teaching methods. I am not really talkative so my bonding with teachers is average.
 

Placement Rating
The University has a dedicated placement cell that provides various job opportunities. Most of the students are unaware of it but whoever wants help they provide genuine guidance about the career paths and how to prepare for the job. They also conduct occasional seminars and sessions. Renowned companies visit for recruitment. One of my seniors secured a job in Dubai with a package of Rs. 1,30,000/- per month. I haven’t been placed yet because right now I am doing my graduation.
 

Hostel Rating
The University also offers hostel facilities but getting a room in hostels is tough without connections. I struggled in my first year because the room was average but in my second year I got a better room with good roommates. The mess food is decent. The mess charges are Rs. 3000/- per year. There are no strict rules or timings in the hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of this University is huge and historic. Some classrooms are modern while some are outdated. The campus has a very big library and auditorium. Canteens are lively hub of discussion. The Medical Aid is also accessible. Walking through this heritage rich campus feels like walking around history itself. SS hall, library, and canteen are my favorites. Overall the campus is beautiful.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life is peaceful and fulfilling. I'd rate this University 4/5. Evenings with friends and engaging in clubs and extracurricular activities keep it lively. The crowd is mostly from modest backgrounds. The University conducts events and fests on regular basis. Overall the campus life is the best.

    Aligarh Muslim University is a century-old Educational Marvel. The objective for its establishment was quality education for that section of students who cannot afford it. The Faculty of Law, AMU is very well serving its purpose. It provides the best quality legal education to the not-very-privileged section of students.     Aligarh Muslim University is one of the oldest and largest residential universities in our country.
