BITS Pilani Hyderabad B.E Tution Fee is Rs. 2,67,500/- Per Semester

BITS Hyderabad is an amazing Institute where I get to explore so many things and interact with like-minded people. It took me out of my comfort zone and challenged me in every step of campus life which helped to grow academically and personally. I chose this Institute over others due to the kind of crowd here and the huge alumni network along with the placements offered here.

I am pursuing Electrical Engineering at BITS Pilani Hyderabad. The course work looked very interesting to me and I could get hands-on experience to various technical aspects of this course. To get into this program, I had to qualify BITSAT. The eligibility criteria to get the admission is to pass with 60% aggregate in PCM in entrance exam and scoring a minimum aggregate of 75% in your 12th boards in PCM stream. The admission process is pretty simple and if you clear the cutoff, you get the admission. Coming to the frequency of the exams, you generally have one or two tests every two weeks and a midsem & final comprehensive exam. The course work is enough to get placed anywhere in Electronics core sector.

The fee structure is pretty straightforward, they take Rs. 2,67,500/- as your tuition fee for that semester and you pay roughly Rs. 50,000/- for mess and hostel advances. They also charge a registration/admission fee of Rs. 50,000/- at the start of your admission if you get admitted into any of the programs. There are various scholarships available on campus, the major ones being the Merit cum Need scholarships. If your family income is under 15 LPA then you are eligible for Merit Cum Need aid where you get a minimum scholarship on 25% of the fees up to 100% of your fees (depending on your CGPA).

Almost all the associate professors have a Ph.D in their respective domains so they are experts in their field. Coming to teaching, they generally teach using PPTs but also use the blackboard occasionally. We also have regular tutorials where they solve problems discussed in the lectures. The teacher-student ratio is average where it’s almost 1:50. The faculty members are very approachable and have designated consultancy hours. You can also meet them outside those hours by dropping them an email.

There is a Placement Unit (PU) in our campus which handles everything related to placements. Its completely student run under the supervision of a faculty. PU frequently conducts placement preparation talks and guides the students preparing for various roles in the market. The average package offered is 22 LPA while the median is 20 LPA.

The Institute is completely residential where there are more than 6 boys’ hostels and 2 girls’ hostels. There are also faculty quarters so everyone stays in the same residential complex more or less. The mess food is manageable. There are no in-timings in the hostel so it’s pretty chill. The hostel rooms are nice and comfortable with decent washrooms.

The campus is spread over 200 acres, where we have two huge academic blocks, which have 100s of classrooms and 7 lecture halls for bigger strength. We also have a world class auditorium and a library. Apart from this, we have 8 eateries on campus. We also have student activity centre where you can find all kinds of sports being played. There is also a medical centre which is operational 24/7. We also have a shopping complex which has every shop you need.

The crowd in my campus is pretty decent where people from all kinds of background are present. There are various clubs and departments which are active in the Institute. We have 3 fests every year that are technical fest, sports fest, and cultural fest. You can join any club you wish and work & network with so many people on campus which helps in your communication skills. Overall, the campus is pretty lively and fun.
