My experience at IISU Jaipur was kind of bittersweet. It is an all girls' University. The faculty and facilities are really well. You should join to the University if you want a balanced academic life because it’s both fun and well-managed. The University’s infrastructure is not as grand but the opportunities offered here are.

The course I chose at the University was BJMC. I enrolled into it because I have a keen interest in creative fields. For enrollment one needs to have 50% marks in the Class 12th exams. The admission process is pretty easy. You just need to fill out the admission forms and deposit the first semester fee and you will be in. The frequency of exams is not very high. We have internals and final exams for every semester. The way the course has been designed is indeed great, it covers everything a journalism major needs to know. More focus is delivered to the practical aspects than the theoretical aspects.

The total fee for my chosen course is Rs. 3,69,000/-. The fee was paid twice in a year. This fee is inclusive of the other charges like that of library, labs, and more. Admission and registration fee is not included in the same. There are no special discounts for specific category students. There was a scholarship on the basis of merit in Class 12th.

The faculty at the University is like a whole family welcoming you with their arms open. The faculty of my chosen course was highly qualified and most of them were Ph.D holders. They used to teach us using traditional teaching methods (mostly blackboards). We gained a lot of practical knowledge through the lectures of our Tech head, which made us learn minute details of the cameras, lights and even editing for both print and digital media. The teachers were very approachable and helpful on both academic and personal level.

The University has a dedicated placement cell for its students but personally my experience with the placement cell was not great since they take long to provide NOCs. Also, there were no placement drives for our course like that of others.

The University has a good infrastructure considering the area it’s located in. It has so many departments in a limited space. There are also well-equipped labs and for my course, there is also a well-equipped studio. The University is divided into blocks dedicated to different departments. They have so many classrooms with the capacity of almost 50. The University also has dedicated huge library, different seminar halls, an AV hall, a conference room, and more. They give equal priority to sports as well. They have a ground area and a Basketball court is there as well. The canteens are clean and serve delicious meals. There is an infirmary for medical emergencies on-campus. The University also offers transport facilities to the students. All and all it’s a great space for holistic growth.

My overall campus life at IISU Jaipur was great. The students at the University are really supportive. There are so many clubs for students to join, for example, ‘Ellipsis’- the Literature club, ‘Mudra’- the Dance society and many more for students to grow holistically. The University also organises a yearly fest named ‘Cosmos’ which includes performances, competitions and much more. The University conducts various Inter and Intra-University competitions for its students. My experience was great as I met great people and great educators there.
