Every Year, IIT Jodhpur Conducts Events Like Spandan, Varchas, and Prometeo

My JEE Advanced rank was what made me choose Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur. Here we are expected to respect the seniors. I really liked the sports grounds here. This Institute is very active in events related to the country and encourages students to participate too. They also give all the information about the latest internships for the students to help them develop their skills.

I chose the Mechanical Engineering course, actually that course selected me due to my all India rank in JEE Advanced rank but I don't think it’s bad. Approximately it was between 8000- 9000 rank. The process for the admission is that they first contact us by our mail. Later, they'll update us on what all do we need to bring and what to do next. Some seniors help the juniors while joining new student. The semesters are conducted at a gap of 5 to 5.5 months approximately. The academics help in real life challenges by making real life based projects.

For SC/ST there is no tuition fee applicable. If OBC students or any others have family income certificate with less than 1 LPA, they'll get their tuition fees back as remission. If the income is in range of 1 LPA – 5 LPA, they receive Rs. 67,000/- as fee remission.

IIT Jodhpur has very experienced professors are available who can be searched on Google too. They all are perfect in their subjects and some are internationally known professors, who have spent some time in other countries for research purposes. They all have high GATE exam percentage. They are very quick to solve problems and are very invested in teaching. In B.Tech 1st year, the teacher student ratio is 1:20 approximately. I am trying to make some connections with the professors by interacting with them during doubt sessions and some meetings in order to strengthen my future.

Yes, There is a placement cell. It helps the students to get best jobs and they don't recommend students blindly here. You need more skills, communication, and connections with professors in order to have more chances to get placements. Many international companies visit this campus; if you have talent you'll definitely have the good future. The average package of my branch in this campus is about 18 or 19 LPA from what I have heard from my seniors and highest was in the range of 50-60 LPA.

This Institute also offers residential facilities for faculties who work here. There are approximately more than 500+ rooms for faculty and every year 500-600 new students join this campus. The girls’ and boys’ hostels are separate but they are allowed to meet outside the hostels. The mess food is not so bad, in fact it is good but many South Indians don't like this because all the food is tasty but not spicy. But hygiene is maintained in the mess. Hostel have some specific rules like parking of bicycle should only be on the ground floor and your work should not be a problem to others. There are no specific timings for hostel you can leave anytime and come at anytime.

The campus is really huge as has 180 acres of land. The labs are very clean & professional. The rules are strictly followed in labs. Here, we have a mart named Fresh N Green, where you can buy your daily needs. Mostly everybody loves to visit with friends and have parties. The sports complex is also just like expected from an IIT. The sports grounds are of perfect size and many types of games are available. Following the sports rules is a must when you enter the arena. If you don't like mess food you can visit canteen near to the mess.

Overall, the campus life is very good. If you get a chance to come here, don't miss this. There will be no crowd at any place. The crowd is managed by campus with different times for different types of students. Here seven student societies and clubs exist for various types of activities like the Respawn Club for gaming, and Nexus Club for space research, and Sports Club, etc. Lots of fests are also conducted here. Ignus is the cultural fest which is loved by many. Spandan, Varchas, and Prometeo are also different types of fests. Fests are very special here; every student loves to participate in them. Overall my campus experience is mind blowing. It can't be expressed in words.
