VIT-AP University B.Tech Review By Krishna Kasarla

(Vellore institute of technology) VIT-AP University is located near Amravati, Andhra Pradesh. It is a top most college amongst private institutions. When I entered in to this college with much excitement, many hopes and full of motivation like every other student joins into a college. I never felt less after seeing this college because it is a vast campus across 150 acres of land which comparatively more size from majority colleges in Hyderabad. So my first feeling is so good because of food, which is so good compared to many colleges and the studies and Infrastructure. Although it is still in developing stage but it rapidly gained student attraction due to its academics and diversity. Here you can find students from various states from all over the India which makes your language and confidence better. Almost all things which requires for a student will get here within the college but I think it will be super awesome if it is within a city because the college is in outskirts for outing we have travel some distance. The teachers and faculty are the best part of college.

The academics of VIT-AP University are so well that students can easily convinced by academics. Here we can select our faculty and there is no such pressure for records for all subjects. The attendance is 80% mandatory to write CAT and FAT. CAT means cumulative assessment test and FAT means final assessment test. So the thing about selecting our teachers is called FFCS that means Fully Flexible Credit System. Here our semesters are calculated according to credits. The number of credits you complete the number of semester you have completed. For each subject we have number of credits as you attend and complete the assignments you will complete your credits. Also we have many Hackathons and boot camps for each course students can easily understand the industrial need of students.

As I said above, teachers are main reason that VIT-AP University has such a good reputation. They are very supportive and encouraging in every field of engineering. We have different school like SCOPE, SAS, etc. For the first semester teachers will be allotted by the management and then from second semester we can select the teachers we like from the experience we have in first semester. Faculty are very dedicated and are very approachable to students. We can go to their cabin anytime to clear doubts, and for any other guidance. We can also participate in many technical competitions like Hackathons, brainathons, etc to improve our knowledge in the respective fields. Overall teachers are very good with respect to subject.

As if we talk about placements, the highest placement in VIT-AP is Rs. 63 LPA and many of the students will involve in internships in the middle of the third year. We also get career guidance from various companies and alumni for better career.

Yes VIT-AP have residential facilities inside the institution itself. We have five men hostel and 2 women hostel and the construction for more hostels is still going on. As we talk about hostels the mess is the first thing comes to mind. According to me it is superb because we have plenty of options to eat. Also for every hostel we have separate gym. The main thing is TV room where students can watch cricket, sports, etc. where we fun a lot. We also have petty shop in every shop so we can buy things we want. Laundry takes time but gives your early and also the main part is lifts because we have enough lifts in every hostel but it is not enough while eating time like lunch, dinner, etc. as all students gather at lift so we have to stand for a long time.

Coming to infrastructure we have two administrative blocks called as AB-1 and AB-2. The main block which central block or CB. Here in these three blocks we have all the classes, labs, teacher cabins, etc. you can have a doubt that how all these can fit in only three blocks. The answer is they are as big as they are. Mainly the central block is very vast that it took me nearly 15 days to understand where my classes are. We it comes to cafeteria which is the main spot in students’ life is our rock plaza. Where all the students live their life after bunking classes and in leisure times. Coming to sports and physical fitness for each hostel we have each gym which is manageable for an average student.

Overall the campus life is very fun because we have a very much good sports and the diversity among the students and teachers. When it comes to fest every Saturday we have fest, they can be conducted by various clubs. Also we have many clubs to join it can be technical or cultural but it is fun to join in a club. Also the biggest two events are VITOPIA and VAPP which are cultural and technical events respectively conducted by management and students. Many celebrities are invited and done very largely.
