Discovering Campus & Academic Life at St. Xavier's University Kolkata

Overall Rating
The University was established in 2017. It is located near the Tech hub. It is one of the most reputed and popular Universities. Right now, the majority of campus is under construction. It will get completed around the year 2030. My personal experience at this University is good. It has all the facilities which the students need. The ragging is strictly prohibited inside the campus so the University is safe for all the students. The students also have to maintain a certain percent of attendance.
 

Academics Rating
The curriculum is a blend of traditional and modern aspects. For admission, the students have to qualify the entrance exam. The exams are conducted semester wise. Each semester consists of 4 to 5 months. The students of my course have to do an internship of one month. The University also conducts internal assessments which are 30 marks. The exams are conducted very strictly. The academics are good.
The fee structure here is quite high. The scholarships are available for the students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are very good. Most of the teachers have done Ph.D in their respective field. The teachers have good knowledge in the subjects they teach. Most of the teachers are very friendly and help the students in their academics. Some of the teachers are approachable while some of them are not. Overall, the teachers are good and also solve the doubts of the students.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, St. Xavier's University Kolkata has placement cell. Law firms visit the campus to hire the students who are pursuing Law. The placements are not up to the mark.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the University offers separate accommodation facilities to male and female students. The fee of the hostel is high. The mess is also available which serves 3 meals a day such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The students have to enter the hostel by 8:00 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is spread over 16.64 acres of land. The infrastructure of this University is good. Second academic block is under construction right now. Soon, the University will make an auditorium. There is a separate building for the students of Law. The campus has library, 2 canteens, gym, etc. The University provides indoor and outdoor sports facilities for games like Football, Chess, Table Tennis, etc. The classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with all the digital tools.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life at St. Xavier's University Kolkata is good. The University focuses more on the academics but it also organise various functions and annual fests. The campus crowd is not that huge and it belongs to different states of India. There are various clubs and two societies. I have participated in various different activities.

    The experience at St. Xavier's University was great. The main reason that made me choose this university was the packages. Companies like SVF, ABP, and ZEE provide packages to students which students can avail. The highest package provided is 30 LPA and average package is around 13 LPA.     St. Xavier's University, Kolkata can prove good option for the candidates who failed to crack CLAT and have to get admitted in a private university. Overall it is a good university to study.     St. Xavier's University is a new extension of St. Xavier's College, established in 2017. My experience with this university is quite good and decent, but the only issue is the security guards keep on telling everyone to wear their ID cards. The college has an academic block, and there are 2 canteens with a gym, mess and hostel facilities for both boys and girls and a games room.
