SPIT Mumbai Offers Fee Concession As Per Student's Family Income

I am currently in 3rd year B.Tech in CSE branch. My overall experience here would be good but not the best, the focus is more on academics. Attendance is given a huge priority, which we do not like at all. 75% attendance is compulsory. Apart from this, the experience has been great; the competitions held by various committees and also give opportunities outside Institute. Me being a part of a committee (CSI) has boosted my growth and also helped me in networking. I choose this Institute because of a School Senior of mine who was in SPIT and had good growth and also in Mumbai, it is a top tier Institute SPIT's alumni and networking is really good.

I chose this branch, as I wanted to go into a computer field. The cutoff is really good like its high, CET around 99+ and JEE, I am not so sure. Admission process is straightforward, first of all, there is a CAP round from the CET cell, and the next are the institutional round where you are assigned a merit number. There are total 8 semesters, 2 semesters in a year. In 1 semester, you have MSE, ISE, ESE - Mid Sem Exam, In Sem Exam, and End Sem Exam. Curriculum is well set and really good.

During my academic year, the fee is Rs. 1,75,000/- a year for all courses. However, currently, it is around Rs. 2,12,000/- from CAP rounds. For special category students, fee is less compared to Open Category (General) ones. Various scholarships are also provided. It offers various fee concessions based on family income.

The faculty members in my branch are experienced. A few of the teachers are really good and studying in the lecture is enough for exams. The faculty members have PhD’s and are well qualified. There are digital boards as well as whiteboards in class. The teachers are friendly and most of them are chill to approach and talk.

The Training and Placement Office is really renowned. The team is dedicated towards finding good opportunities. Students are with Internships as well as placement opportunities. Apart from this various industry related sessions are conducted for students. The experience is worthwhile and I have received a summer internship opportunity.

No, SPIT Mumbai does not provide hostel facilities. However, there are many apartments and PG's near the Institute.

The campus is big. The Institute is a single building of 8 floors. There are plans to increase the area too. Work is going on too. There are ample labs and the facilities like computers, Wi-Fi & AC, and all are present in good condition. There are 2 canteens. The quality of food is good and there a many varieties too. There is also a mess in the campus. The auditorium is really well maintained.

The campus life has been really great. There are many colleges in the campus so you have a good amount of crowd to network with.
The college crowd is decent. There are many clubs/committees in college on various domains like tech, sports, finance, cultural etc. I am part of Computer Society of India (CSI SPIT). The experience has been really great and i have learnt a lot from this. There are extracurricular activities too like you can part of the official college team for various sports and cultural like dance, music. The college also gives opportunities for out of college events and sessions we can attend. Oculus is SPIT's annual fest which consists of things like WOB (War of branches) , concerts, side events etc. Overall, my experience has been really good in SPIT as of now.
