Indian Institute of Technology M.Tech Review By Vivek Kumar

Indian Institute of Technology Indore is the top technical institute in India and the fee for the M. Tech is also decent which is around Rs. 50,000 excluding the hostel fee and other expenses. This IIT is not old but it is a newly made IIT so the resources here in the college are also new and modern. Location of the college is also good and it is spread in the area of more than 500 acres and this institute is a central government technical institute which follows the schemes of All India Counsel for Technical Education. This institute is recognized as the best research university in India. Since I wanted to make career in research and development field so I decided to appear for this institute's interview process. If someone is looking for the best research institute other than the IIT Madras and if he got the good rank in the GATE EE exam then he can opt for this institute. Overall this IIT Indore is better than the other IITs in term of discipline and research work.

To be eligible for this course we need to complete our graduation from any technical university approved by the UGC and AICTE. After the eligible to this institute we also need to take the entrance test for the institute which is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). GATE exam generally conducted in the first two weeks of February every year and the result of the exam publishes in the mid of March and after that counselling starts on the CCMT exam from the month of May. In the month of July the whole process of the college selection is completed and then we need to go to the institute for the Technical Interview. In August, course start with the duration of two year which follow the semester assessment process. My motivation to register in the Advance Signal Processing was to study more about the signal and to develop more knowledge and my plan after the PG was to go for the research program.

Most of subjects were simulation based in course and we perform all the work on the MATLAB and Simulink. My branch was Advance Signal Processing and for this the requirement of the teachers is not for the knowledge because we most of the work on our own. But we need the support of the teachers for the mentorship on the research work since they are the expert in their field and they already done many projects in their teaching life also. Most of the teachers in IIT Indore are currently doing the work in their research topics and they sometimes need our help in their projects and also supported some of my teachers in their work and I helped them in some of the topics in the research paper. Since institute is new so most of the teachers have joined the institute since the inception of the college.

Major companies those visit the campus on the regular basis are Goldman Sachs, Intel, AMD, LG, Samsung, Pentair, Amazon, ION, Trav clan, Wal-Mart, Oracle and many other Multinational Companies visit the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore. There is cell in the college for the placements and training of the candidates and they do not charge any fee for the training program. Placements cell really help the student to get placed in the good companies and they provide good package on batch and the placement percentage in my batch was of more than ninety percent. Highest package of the institute in 2022 batch is Rs. 56 LPA and lowest package goes down to the Rs. 8 LPA and the average salary was Rs. 15 LPA. We can also apply for the off campus job from various website but the chances for the selection are low.

Yes these are the residential facilities in the IIT Indore and there are more than ten hostels in the institute and there are distinct hostel for the girls and boys. Hostels are very good in the college with all the basic needs in the hostel. Mess here in the college hostel is the best part and food taste like home and all the facilities like room has bed with bed sheet and fans are also present in the room. Bathrooms in the hostels are very good and there are also geysers in the hostels in the winters. College students are not allowed to stay outside the campus and if they allow to do say than nobody will take the hostel outside the campus because the fee of the room outside the college hostel is very high than the campus hostels and college hostel provides good facilities to the students with other benefits also.

Main highlight of the IIT Indore should be its Library because of the size which it has and also for the collection of the books which is literally big and the architecture it has. Hostels should also be a key feature of the college because IIT Indore has the best hostels in all over India with very less fee. Classrooms are very good and the tables in the classes are very well designed and the classrooms are in the tapper form. College is very huge and it is established in the area of more than 550 acres so the buildings are very well separated so we need to travel with the cycle inside the campus. Gym, Medical Center, Transportation services, Cafeteria, Sports Complex, Shopping Complex and Auditorium are the main features of the college. There is also a computer center in the college which is managed by a super computer.

Although most of my college life was heavily impacted by the corona virus yet I have attended the last semesters in the college and I witness all the buzz that happen in the institute. In the month of August we start the year with the welcome of the freshly joined students and we organize a fest for them where seniors perform for the juniors. After that in the month of November we have our technical fest where we can show our new ideas and if our idea gets the prize then we can also apply for the funding for the development of the idea. After that one sport fest happen in the college which is named LAKHSHYA and the month of organization is not fixed. But the main fest which is called FLUXUS is organize with certainty and is organized in the month of March. Clubs are Robotics Club, Coding Club, SAE club; Entrepreneurial development club and Innovation center is the main clubs that are present in the institute.
