JIIT Noida is a Deemed to be University

I got to know about Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida from my friend's elder sibling who also studied in here and after joining it I feel like it was worth it. It has also received the status of deemed to be University. The faculty, studies, syllabus, campus, etc., I won't say are the best in India but still a lot better than other private Institutes. I can see a good future of this Institute. The classes are held regularly and there is a huge focus on attendance and studies. With studies in morning and club activities in evening, campus life is good enough. Placements are really nice if you have built up skills in 4 years.

Academics might be the best part of JIIT Noida. Faculty is really nice and classes are held regularly, creating a huge focus on skill development. Even though the mandatory 80% attendance criteria is too harsh, they debar kids below 65% attendance. Previously 3 exams were held in a semester but now it has been changed and only mid and end semester exams are organised for 2025 batch and onwards. Syllabus has been changed and a lot of new subjects have been added. Some might feel a huge academic pressure but B.Tech requires pressure. There are numerous well organised, well equipped labs, huge library and online website provided to students with study material.

The overall fees for my 4 year course will be around Rs. 15,00,000/- to Rs. 16,00,000/-. Yes, it is expensive but if you are a topper, during counselling you can fill for AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) but for that you need to be in top 1% of all students who applied for this Institute. Otherwise there are many other Scholarships available which can be checked out on Institute’s official website. Seats for Scholarship are limited but they are merit based and also if the students’ family income is less than 8 LPA.

There is bias among students that the faculty of sector 128 is better than sector 62 that is not true according to me. Both have nice faculty with obvious exceptions. The teachers use slides to teach and use white board as well. Some prefer to give lectures only through PPT while some prefer the white board written method. Some Assistant Professors are pursuing their Ph.D. as well so they are open to learning new things so as to teach students in a better manner. One subject teacher teaches a batch of 60 students and 30 students for lab. Academics and faculty is nice overall.

Vinod sir of Placement Cells keeps us updated about all the companies who have come for Internship/Jobs. Several reminders are sent for the same. The Placement of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida was real nice in 2022 as compared to the current times. Might be due to harsh job market or whatever reason, but it is true that on campus Placement is seeing a downfall. It might gradually improve with all the new changes. The highest package in 2025 was 62 LPA with average of 11.67 LPA.

Hostels for girls and boys are separate. The rooms are double sharing but there are some dorms with 4 or 6 beds. Mess food is really nice but sometimes it is average. Hostels are cleaned every day and have a closing time of 10:00 PM. Boys may roam around campus after that as well, but not girls. Hostel gates are closed at 9:00 PM. Hostel fees is Rs. 1,00,000/- per semester right now but may increase in coming years. I recommend taking the hostel at least for the 1st year.

JIIT Noida campus is not too huge but have all the necessary facilities required in a Tech Institute. It has a huge library, auditorium, medical room, several labs, numerous classrooms, some with seating capacity of 60 while some of 120. Canteen, mess, A to Z shop, and everything else is available. Sector 62 is in a good area and hence each and everything is available nearby campus, even metro is just outside gate 3. In sports facility, there is a Volleyball Court and Basketball Court. Hostels also have games inside hostel but only available to hostellers.

Overall, the campus life is good enough. The student is able to focus on studies as well as enjoy in clubs. One of the things students would want to change is the uniform but even uniform has some leniency. Shirt with jeans is also acceptable on several days. One of the drawbacks is that Institute doesn't have many fests, only one big fest in February or March and some small events of clubs, that's it but if you are the kind to fully focus on studies, then one can ignore this. Overall, everything is good enough.
