'Kreiva' is Annual Cultural Fest of IIIT Vadodara

I am a third year Undergraduate student at Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara, Gandhinagar. My overall experience has been extremely positive so far. Although, our permanent campus is still under construction and we are currently running at Government Engineering College of Gandhinagar, but after spending more than 2 years, it feels like it didn't even matter. Along with the best academics, the Institute maintains the best Coding culture and encourages us for extracurricular activities. This year our Institute has accepted admissions for new branches like ECE and AI along with the online facility for B.Sc. Be wise and make the perfect decision for your life.

I am pursuing B.Tech in CSE. Entry is based on the JEE Main percentile rank with minimum of 98 percentile for general category students and for OBC it is around 97.5 percentile. The admission process is done by the JoSAA/CSAB rounds. In a year we have 2 semesters here. In a single semester we have two main exams, one during the middle of the semester and another at the end. The mid sem comprises around 30% and end sem around 45% weightage, it differs according to the Professors choice. While preparing for these semester examinations, we would definitely learn to manage the time.

The fee for my course at IIIT Vadodara is around Rs. 1,70,000/- per semester, including tuition, registration, and hostel charges. Scholarships are available for the economically weaker sections, for OBC and also for SC/ST students through National Scholarship Portal schemes and some State Scholarships.

The faculty members are very well qualified, knowledgeable and supportive. Many of them hold high degrees like Ph.D. from IITs. They use a combination of blackboard teaching and PPTs along with interactive tutorials and interactive sessions, using coding sessions, quizzes, and many more. Teacher student ratio is comfortable, which facilitates the individual attention when required. Faculty members are also available after the class and even after the working hours through various medias.

The last year Placement at Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara, Gandhinagar was quite well. This year's Placement is still going on with around 30% students already placed. For third year students we got opportunities for paid Internships also.

As of now, the Institute does not offer residential facilities for 3rd year boys and also for 4th year all students. They offer fully administered residential facilities for 1st, 2nd and some of the 3rd year girls. Currently there are two different hostels running, they are well maintained by the student hostel committee with Professor's administration.

Currently, our permanent campus is still under construction at Vadodara. So, we are running at Government Engineering College at Gandhinagar. Although, there is enough space for us. We have well maintained classrooms with facilities such as digital boards, air conditioner and other things which make learning easy in the classroom. In our temporary campus we have library, conference hall and rooms for various student activities. Canteen is there in mess area. We have a good and active medical support too.

The overall campus life of Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara, Gandhinagar is fine according to me. Institute organizes various events and competitions so the students are actually enjoying. Every year our biggest cultural fest named ‘Kreiva’ is there for unlimited enjoyment. The crowd is well managed. We have lots of clubs, committees here in our Institute which includes Dance Club named ‘MOD5’, Singing Club named ‘Encore’, Drama Club named ‘Masquerade’ and many others. I am currently a part of the Dance Club, and we enjoy a lot there with our seniors and juniors.
