My 4-Year Experience at SHUATS Prayagraj

Overall Rating
Overall, my experience at SHUATS Prayagraj is good. The 4-year of campus life is like a rollercoaster ride where I went through lot of ups & downs. The campus is very big, you have to walk a long way to reach to your University/Department to the classroom. The faculty and professors are very helpful throughout the academics. There will be many conferences, University, & departmental events, etc. where you can participate in any of them as an extra-curricular activity.
 

Academics Rating
I chose my course B.Tech (Biotechnology) because I had an interest in this field. There is direct admission. However, for some courses like Agriculture and Horticulture, an entrance test conducted as this University is famous for Agricultural Education & research as well. The admission process can be completed within 1-2 days, along with document verification. If we talk about the frequency of exams, there will be 2 semester exams conducted in every year, which are followed by internal tests and practical/viva.
Fee structure for my courses is Rs. 1,30,000/- for 1 year. Therefore, per semester, it is around Rs. 65,335/-. There is 20% concession on academic fee as well for the students of specific category. UP Scholarship is also available for students with UP domicile only.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are very good and have good knowledge of the course. Most of the professors are having qualification until Ph.D or Masters’ degree. Most professors come from good background as well. The teaching method is mixed Blackboard, PPTs, and group discussion as well. As for problem solving ability, you can say is on the average side. Teachers to student ratio are good enough. and faculty members are easily approachable and very friendly most in my department
 

Placement Rating
There is a single Placement Cell at the Institution. Marketing companies visit our campus during the drives. In addition, the packages offered range from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- per month or 2.5 LPA to 4.7 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the University does offer residential facilities total room. There are 100 to 200 rooms in an each hostel. Yes, there are separate hostels for girls’ and boys’. Mess quality is average to good. There are 4 to 5 messes running in various hostels. Annual fees of the hostel range from Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- depends on hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj is average. Nonetheless, the campus size is large, and the locality is good. Classrooms are big enough with 60 seating capacity in each. All the academic facilities are present. A Canteen, Sports, Security, and other facilities are also available. My favorite place is the garden and after that ‘SHUATS Café’.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, campus life is good enough. You will be making many friends here in your starting years. The crowd is average. There are no clubs in my University. University does organise University/department level fests and other event. There is ‘XPRESSIONS’ which is our annual youth fest. In this fest, students can participate in several events. It is a 2-day event.SHUATS Cafe

    My overall experience was good. Teachers were friendly and knowledgeable. The infrastructure of the university is great, and it has a beautiful garden, but the management is not up to the mark.     At first, I was worried as a South Indian girl going into a university in Uttar Pradesh. But when I got into this university then I realised this university is completely safe despite being in a high crime rated area and the education provided here is completely practical knowledge by experienced professors where they provide real knowledge and even the surroundings environment inside the college is really beautiful and fascinates us in every season throughout the year....
