Scores of AP-EAPCET are Required for Admission in PSCMRCET Vijayawada

When I was in Intermediate was preparing for the JEE Main, one of my shifts’ center was Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada. When I went there, I was just impressed by their Labs which were very big and had separate rooms named after renowned scientists. There were good quality air-conditioners as well. It is affiliated to JNTU Kakinada Institution when I joined in 2022. It has become an Autonomous Institution. The Labs played a big role in why I chose this College. Moreover, daily commutation from my house is convenient. It is almost like all the other Private tier 3 colleges but it has few things like friendly faculty and cultural events. The College life is good but the placements are average.

I chose B.Tech in Computer Science as I am very passionate about this course and Engineering since childhood. CSE also has a huge demand in the job market. One can join this College either through management quota or convener quota. The convener quota requires writing an entrance exam called the AP-EAPCET. Later on after securing a good rank, students can hope to avail seats through the Counseling process.

The annual fee for B.Tech in PSCMRCET Vijayawada is around Rs. 41,500/- for the Convener Quota students. For Management Quota students, it is around Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 1,20,000/-. The Government provides a 100% Scholarship on the Tuition fee if the student has a White Ration Card.

The faculty at PSCMRCET Vijayawada is well-qualified. Some of the good faculty members are from the State or Central Universities alongwith Ph.D backgrounds. The problem-solving capability of the teachers is average in my opinion. The teacher to student ratio is about 1:25. Most of the teachers are friendly and very helpful in academics too. My personal experience with the teachers has been really good.

There is a Placement Cell in the College. The Cell tries to bring different companies by approaching them directly. It also provides few training camps to prepare the students for placements. The placement drives are conducted in the final semester.

The College has a hostel for the girls in the campus itself with a lift facility and for the boys, hostel is situated outside the campus but within 500 meters. The annual Hostel fee is around Rs. 40,000/- and with a Mess fee of Rs. 3400 per month. There are some strict rules for the girls in the hostel. They should be inside the hostel by 5 PM and a permission slip is required for them to go out.

The Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada campus is located in a street beside houses but the campus is fairly big. The Classrooms are decent with good seating capacity. There is a Digital Library but it is a bit outdated and small. The Canteen is small as well with only Vegetarian food options. However, the food is very affordable for the students and one can get meals for only Rs. 50/-. Moreover, Sports facilities include Cricket Net, Volley Ball Net, Kabaddi Ground and an Indoor Games Hall for Board Games & Badminton.

My overall experience was average. The crowd is decent and huge. There are few Clubs for hobbies, entertainment, and extracurricular activities. Both Tech and Non-Tech events are organised in the College like Hackathons, Annual Fest, Farewell, Freshers', etc. The Annual Fest is held every year where students can open their Business stalls in the campus.
