Alumni's Perspective of the PSCMRCET Vijayawada

Overall Rating
I had joined the Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada based on my EAMCET Rank. This College is situated in the city center and that was one of the reasons why I chose this. When I had joined, they claimed that they would become an autonomous Institution in the upcoming years which proved to be true. My parents decided to send me to this Institution because one of our relatives was a faculty member here.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.Tech in EEE course. I opted for this course because I had strong interest in circuit branches. I had joined through the convener quota by giving the AP EAMCET exam which is an entrance test for engineering aspirants in Andhra Pradesh. Students can also get a seat through the management quota by paying higher fee than the convener quota. Exams in this College are conducted frequently and almost every month.
My annual fee was around Rs. 41,500/-. The fee for the students of the Management quota was higher. Moreover, there were scholarships available for the students of Convener quota.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at PSCMRCET provided good theoretical knowledge but did not emphasise on the practical skills. Their main goal was that students secure more marks in the exam. They delivered their lectures mostly through Projectors and PPTs. The teacher-student ratio was around 1:20. The faculty was approachable and friendly. My experience with them was good.
 

Placement Rating
After joining my branch, I found out that there were fewer placements for this branch in the College. Most of them were low paying jobs of around 1.4 LPA to 2.4 LPA. I tried to get placed off-campus and was able to secure a job after graduation.
 

Hostel Rating
I opted for the hostel facility because I am from another town. The annual hostel fee was around Rs. 35,000/- for Non-AC and Rs. 40,000/- for AC rooms. The girls’ hostel was inside the campus however, boys’ hostel was outside the campus. Mess fee was Rs. 3200/- monthly and the food was average. We were supposed to get inside the hostel before 5 PM and to go outside, permission was needed from the parents alongwith a letter from the College. My overall experience at the hostel was average.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus was built between houses. The Classrooms were good in size and seating. There was a small Library in the campus and also a Resting Room for girls. The washrooms were not maintained well. I had no particular favorite spot in the campus. There was an Indoor Games Hall with board games, etc. Moreover, the Security of the College was really good.
 

Campus Rating
I will not suggest joining the EEE branch in this College but you can go for CSE, sub-branches, or even ECE. The College crowd was good. There were a few Clubs such as the hobbies club, etc. Annual day is also conducted in this College. Apart from this, an Inter-Collegiate Fest is called 'Vibrance'. Moreover, for events or fests like Fresher’s and Farewell, funding had to be arranged by the students themselves.

There were a few reasons for choosing this College like seat availability, fee affordability, and also the commuting time from my house. Moreover, my parents decided to enroll me here because of its good reputation and security. The College is situated in the center of the town so it’s near to almost everything.     I joined the Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada as a Lateral entry which is in the 2nd year of B.Tech. When I had joined the College, it took me some time to adapt to the situations and Academics around me. Because as a lateral entry, I joined later than the regular students. I chose this College based on my entrance exam rank and also because the commute time is very less for me as I live in the nearby area. Moreover, the Labs are very nice in this College....     The Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada has a good environment, friendly faculty, excellent Lab facilities, etc. Placements are really good at this College and hostel facilities are also good as compared to other Colleges.     When I was in Intermediate was preparing for the JEE Main, one of my shifts’ center was Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada. When I went there, I was just impressed by their Labs which were very big and had separate rooms named after renowned scientists. There were good quality air-conditioners as well.     My overall experience at Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayawada has been genuinely positive. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. The College provides a good balance between academics, practical learning, and student support. The faculty is friendly, and always ready to guide us whenever we need any help.
