My Educational Journey at PSCMRCET Vijayawada

Overall Rating
I joined the Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada as a Lateral entry which is in the 2nd year of B.Tech. When I had joined the College, it took me some time to adapt to the situations and Academics around me. Because as a lateral entry, I joined later than the regular students. I chose this College based on my entrance exam rank and also because the commute time is very less for me as I live in the nearby area. Moreover, the Labs are very nice in this College.
 

Academics Rating
I opted for B.Tech in CSE course stream. I had earlier done Diploma in the same field and also because of its high demand in the job market these days. You must get a decent rank in the entrance exam to get a seat in this College through Convener quota. Students can also get entry through the Management quota. There are 2 mid-sem exams before the final semester exams apart from internal and external exams. For the first two months, exams are conducted on a monthly basis and after that, a definite exam schedule is released.
I joined this College through the Convener quota so the annual fee was Rs. 41,500/-. The fee is higher for the students joining through the management quota and is around Rs. 1,00,000/- annually. Moreover, Convener quota students can get a 100% fee reimbursement from the State Government if they have a White Ration Card.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at PSCMRCET Vijayawada is friendly and very supportive. The faculty members have dual degrees and a few of them have graduated from reputed Universities. Teaching method includes mostly of Blackboards however, for special classes, the teachers use Projectors and Digital Boards. The problem-solving ability of the faculty varies faculty to faculty. The teacher to student ratio is 1:25.
 

Placement Rating
There is a Training and Placement department (Dept of T&P) in the campus which is responsible for bringing job opportunities. Placement and training programs are conducted once in a while like 2 to 3 times a year for the students in which they can register and get trained. These programs are helpful to some extent but still not upto the mark.
 

Hostel Rating
The girls’ hostel is inside the campus but the boys’ hostel is outside the campus. I have heard from my friends that the Mess food is not quite good on most of the days. The annual hostel fee is around Rs. 40,000/- and the mess fee is around Rs. 3400/- per month.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada has good infrastructure. There are different block for different purposes. The Classrooms have a good seating capacity. The campus is situated in a residential area. There is a central library that is called 'Rabindranath Tagore Central Library' but it is small and outdated. Moreover, there’s a small Canteen. Sports facilities are also provided to the students that include a Cricket Net, Volleyball Court, Kabaddi Ground, and an Indoor Sports Hall.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is enjoyable but mostly average. Crowd is huge. There are certain Clubs like entertainment clubs which are managed by the students of different branches. Annual Day is also conducted by the College every year. Other fests and events are also organised including Fresher’s and Farewell.

    The Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada has a good environment, friendly faculty, excellent Lab facilities, etc. Placements are really good at this College and hostel facilities are also good as compared to other Colleges.     When I was in Intermediate was preparing for the JEE Main, one of my shifts’ center was Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada. When I went there, I was just impressed by their Labs which were very big and had separate rooms named after renowned scientists. There were good quality air-conditioners as well.     My overall experience at Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayawada has been genuinely positive. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.     I had joined the Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering and Technology Vijayawada based on my EAMCET Rank. This College is situated in the city center and that was one of the reasons why I chose this. When I had joined, they claimed that they would become an autonomous Institution in the upcoming years which proved to be true.
