My Personal View on the GNLU Silvassa

Overall Rating
I am a first-year student at the Gujarat National Law University Silvassa and particularly, in the third batch. This University is relatively new and is currently in its developing phase. I joined this University because of its name and reputation. Apart from this, I got good reviews from seniors about Academics, surroundings, area, and exposure. Apart from all this, it has a diverse and active Student Committee.
 

Academics Rating
This University offers courses only related to Law. A student is eligible to take admission in this University through appearing for the CLAT UG exam which is a competitive, objective-based exam held once a year. You have to secure a considerable rank to be eligible for admission. After giving exam, the NLUs are allotted in the counselling process on the basis of the ranks. Academics are pretty good and they have a robust & strict system to evaluate the students in each semester.
The fee structure is different for all batches. The fee is also subject to a certain percentage increment every year. There are various types of scholarships provided to the students as well.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at GNLU Silvassa is well-educated and teaches very well. Some of them also hold good experience. The method of teaching is mixed, some teach through PPTs, some through Group Discussions, and the rest use only Books. My overall experience is good and I share a good bond with them. Personally, I do not like the way of teaching of some faculty members and feel like it can be improved.
 

Placement Rating
No proper data on placement is available. But because of the University’s name, there is an assumption that we will also have the same placement as other NLUs. The CRA Cell and Placement Cell are the same. Moreover, the senior-most batch is optimistic about the placements through the University.
 

Hostel Rating
This University provides residential facilities and staying in the hostel is compulsory. The girls' and boys' hostels are separated with a common Mess. Food in the hostel is good and both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food is available with beverages like Milk, Tea, etc. Hostel fee is included in the annual fees paid to the University.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Infrastructure of the Gujarat National Law University Silvassa is overall good. We have good and spacious Classrooms. There is a Library with a good amount of Law books and Novels. The University building also includes a Seminar Hall, etc. Buses are provided for transportation from the hostel to the University. A Nurse is available in the hostel and University for any type of medical emergency. For Sports, a Ground is available for the students to play or to organise Sports events.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is overall good. The University crowd is diverse and students come from all the parts of India. We all have various Clubs for sports, music, creativity, dance, and so on. We celebrate each festival and events here on the campus or in the hostel itself. There are also several events organised for the mental wellbeing of the students. My overall experience is good as far as campus life is concerned.

    Well, Gujarat National Law University, though a newly established NLU, has been competent enough in the Law field. The faculty, the Administrative Staff has been really very helpful and courteous to us.     College is good. The overall academic thing that one student needs is good. Get chances to participate in national competition and conferences. Very lovely environment of the campus. As it just was established in 2023 so it is establishing its roots and getting better day by day. Administration is very helpful and it gives good opportunities to students.     My overall experience at GNLU Silvassa campus has been quite positive especially in terms of academics. The students here are very enthusiastic and competitive which creates a strongly academic and goal-oriented environment. One thing I genuinely appreciate is that with smaller strength, every student's concerns are heard and the management tries to resolve it and sometimes we actually see changes being implemented based on our feedback....     My experience at GNLU Silvassa which is a State level University, has been really special mainly because I am a part of the first batch. I chose this Institution because it is an extended campus of GNLU Gandhinagar, a well-known upper tier Law University and getting a chance to study under the same legacy felt like a dream opportunity.     My overall experience at Gujarat National Law University, Silvassa (GNLUS) has been good in terms of academics and support provided by the faculty, but being a new campus, it has its own limitations. Academically, the University maintains the standards, and faculties are a mix of experienced Professors and young Academicians, but all of them are committed to providing quality education.
