PSG College of Technology is one of the top engineering institutes in India. It holds an ISO 9001:2015 certification. Various courses offered by the institution are accredited by NBA. The institution also has several MoUs with Foreign Universities, Industries and Research Labs.

The admission to B.E and B.Tech is through Anna University counseling, for M.E and M.Tech, it is through GATE and counseling whereas for MCA it is through TANCET. For B.Sc and M.Sc course, the college has its own admission procedure.

I studied M.Sc Software Engineering (now referred as Software Systems), a 5-year integrated course, from 2010-2015. Student with an excellent academic record in the Higher Secondary can apply for the course. Candidates, shortlisted based on their Maths and Physics marks in HSC exam, will be called for an online test and face-to-face interview. In the face-to-face interview, it is very important to carry a good attitude. The approach to solving a problem is as important as arriving at the solution in this interview. The curriculum is revised regularly to adapt to industry standards. The course has a proven track record of 100% placements.

The department has around 28 faculties with a dominant research base. The institution also has 15 visiting faculties from well-known industries and universities. All the faculties have a great academic record and the management motivates the faculties to involve themselves in research and pursue PhD. The faculties motivate the students to gain expertise in the subject thoroughly.

PSG has one of the best Placement Cells functioning in a separate Air-Conditioned block with state-of-the-art facilities for Pre-Placement Talks, Group Discussions, Written Tests and Face-to-Face interviews. The Placement Cell is headed by a Professor, who acts as the Dean, Training and Placements, assisted by the Placement Officer and Placement Coordinator. There are around 90 companies that visit the campus every year for placements. Some of the renowned companies that visit the campus are Google, De Shaw, Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco and Qualcomm.

The highest package offered in our batch was around Rs. 16-18 LPA by De Shaw. The average package was around Rs. 7-8 LPA. The institute has an impressive record of placements and is ranked among the top 15 National level technical institutes in terms of the percentage of students getting placed each year.

The college has a separate hostel for boys and girls located within the campus. Boys also have an additional hostel. There are 3-sharing and 4-sharing options for the rooms. Good quality food is offered in the hostel. There are options for both North Indian and South Indian meal coupons. One of the professors takes up the responsibility as warden and hence there are no security issues.

The campus spans across an area of 45 acres located at a distance of 5 km from Coimbatore Airport and 8 km from Coimbatore Railway Station. The campus has a well-planned architecture with the hostel, industrial institute, staff quarters, and playground within the area. There is ample greenery all around which creates a pleasant atmosphere. The institution has a big library and several advanced centers set up with the financial aid from DST, The Ministry of Human Resources Development and others are also present. There is a stationary store within the campus that caters to the students' need. There are also two canteens that serve hot good food and snacks throughout the day.

The institution motivates you to develop personally, academically and professionally. There are various clubs that lets the students to bring out their hidden talents - Tekmusic, Fine Arts, Dramatix, English Literary Society, Community Radio, Tamil Society etc. Each department has an annual fest. The college also has various intra-college events. The Founders Day is celebrated with grandeur.
