Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College is one of the oldest and respected colleges of Delhi University. It is located at North campus and is at a walking distance from the Vishwavidyala metro station. This college is a part of Delhi University and holds its place at the top 10 list of colleges. According to NAAC reports of 2016, the college acclaimed its 'A' grade accreditation.

The college conducts its undergraduate courses admission through the cut off list at the Delhi University website. The Cut off list admissions are based upon one's 10+2 percentage. The postgraduate admissions are based upon entrance test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). After the announcement of entrance results merit list will be provided, on that basis one will be given admission.

The course I joined was B.Sc life sciences. The reason behind it was the numerous opportunities that I will get after my graduation. This course won't promise you to get a job but will make sure for applying some more options for post graduation courses after graduation. The eligibility criteria for getting admission in this course is your percentage obtained in best of four subjects in 10+2.

The course subjects were as per my expectations and the academic curriculum was relevant as well. If one is confused with his further postgraduate courses (for Master's degree of course), then they can go ahead with this course, which mainly deals with three subjects, that are chemistry, botany and zoology.

The teaching faculty is amazing and helpful. There are different labs for each and every department. For my course, the faculty was of two teachers per subject. That is for one semester, we had 6 teachers in total. And the teachers kept on changing for the new semester. Each teacher is Ph.D or M.Sc Qualified and had an experience of more than five years. There teaching methods were remarkable.

The placement cell of the college is known as "Ignite". Top companies like Tech Mahindra, TSM, Wipro, Ernst and Young etc. comes every year for recruiting students. The placement cell does not conduct placement for B.Sc. Courses. Otherwise, it conducts placement and internship for commerce courses like for B.com.

The average package offered to them is of Rs. 3.8 Lacs. The highest package was from Ernst and Young of Rs. 8 Lacs for B.com honors student. Around 50% of the students were recruited from our college.

The hostel facilities are for only girls and not for boys. The hostel facilities for boys is said to be coming soon. The hostel for girls is said to be as Mata Gujri Hostel. The warden is good and kind enough to take care for the girls inmates of hostel. The hostel serves tasty food. The timings for hostel is restricted till 7 pm.

For safety purposes, the hostel is well equipped under CCTV surveillance. The hostel building for girls comprises of 49 rooms in order to accommodate 147 students. The hostel rooms are well furnished and clean.

The college campus is big. It has different buildings for each subject or stream. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. All the classrooms are air conditioned. There are 59 classrooms, 19 labs, 6 research labs, gymnasium, cafeteria and facilities for indoor and outdoor games. There is also a library known as Mata Gujri library with 2000+ books for students.

There is a large playground. The college campus also has an auditorium for conducting seminars and meetings. All the facilities of medical, post office, market and much more are at close proximity.

Overall college campus life is amazing. The college campus comprises of a place called "Nukkad" or "Jannat" which is a go to place for hanging out with your friends. The college societies also provide students with opportunities for participation in music, dance, theatre, debate, poetry, photography etc. The day to day activities conducted enhance to grow a student's mind and let them evolve.

The college conducts its college fests called "Lashkara" every year. The fests include many activities and competitions for continuous four days. And the last day is the Star performance by a renowned artist. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College is near to other north campus colleges like Kirorimal, Hansraj, Hindu, SRCC, Miranda house and many more. This allows students to attend other college fests also.
