PESU: An Overview

Overall Rating
I am currently in the 2nd year of B.Tech CSE in PESU. I chose this college due to its placement statistics and my branch preference. I was getting EEE in NIT but didn't choose it due to the sole reason of wanting CS branch. This is a good college for placements. Academics are also good. As a private university it designs its own curriculum and thus makes it up-to-date.
 

Academics Rating
Admissions are done via PESSAT exam. For my year counseling was done online although this year it is done offline. The entire process is quite smooth. Curriculum is up-to-date and they know what is going on in market. Fee for CSE is Rs. 4,10,000 which is steep but they do give scholarships. Top 15 students get 40% off on the tuition fee.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty in PESU for CSE is great. All teachers are very knowledgeable. All of them are either Doctorate or M.Tech or M.Sc holders. Usually 60 students are there in a classroom. Teachers are available for students at any time. Exam pattern is 3 internal exams + 1 end semester exam. End semester is a little tough but if you give attention to the teacher during the class then it is very good.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the placement is the main attraction of PESU. This year for CSE Department the average package went up to 17 LPA and highest package was 65 LPA. More than 150 companies visited for on campus placements. Also for internships a lot of hackathons are organised which helps companies to hire paid interns.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have hostels. The boys’ hostel is inside the campus and girls’ hostel is around 2-3 km away from the campus. Bus facility is there for girls. Hostels are average. Food is also average. You have 3 food areas in the boys’ hostel. The management is quite bad as they don't listen to our problems. You can face issues with management here.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is great. You will have air conditioned classrooms. Multiple indoor and outdoor sports courts are there. A high end gym with trainer is available. Classrooms are spacious. Labs are loaded with high-end i7 systems. College canteen is very good. You will have libraries where you can find all kind of books. Even huge numbers of research papers are also there.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is average. Although you have all sporting facilities even then the environment is apprehensive of outdoors. Coding culture is great in here so are the placements. You won't get ample free time in here due to internals and projects. Attendance policy is of at least 85% but it is flexible up to 80%.

    The college is really good for engineering. I personally liked it a lot. You might get mixed reviews everywhere but for me its great the academics, events held, infrastructure...everything is good.     PES environment is rigorous and encourages you to work hard. There is a sense of competition that pushes you to strive for excellence. One of the key reasons that I chose this college was that I knew it has plenty of clubs that would enable me to meet new people and do something out of academics.     My overall experience at the university is excellent. The major reasons for my sayings are its infrastructure, campus life, social interactions, faculty’s expertise, placement records, and internships. The university provides a perfect balance between the academic life and campus life. The infrastructure is also very good with modern classrooms and labs.
