Honest opinion about NIT Calicut

Overall Rating
I chose NIT Calicut CSE because of its highest placement rate, large alumni network, and best faculty in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. It also hosts two of the best technical and cultural events in India, Ragam and Tathva, which give students the opportunity to improve their soft skills. While the first-year hostel is in poor condition and lacks adequate infrastructure, the quality of education at NIT Calicut is very high, making it one of the top colleges in India.
 

Academics Rating
I chose to study Computer Science at NIT Calicut because it is the best department in the college, with an average placement package of over 21 LPA. The entry requirements is to clear JEE Mains and get a rank of around 5.5k in the general category. This college is also one of the best in India to pursue Architecture as it has many facilities to bring out the creative nature of a person.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at NIT Calicut are friendly and interactive, and they are dedicated to making complex things simple for their students. They share their professional experiences and help students avoid the mistakes that their seniors made. All of the faculty members have PhDs in their respective fields.
 

Placement Rating
NIT Calicut has a 100% placement rate in the Computer Science and Engineering Department for the past three years, and other branches also have good placement records. This college also has great alumni network which helps the students in their job placements and future startup programs.
 

Hostel Rating
The first-year hostel at NIT Calicut is old and has basic infrastructure and conditions, but the new mega hostel is modern and has all the necessary facilities, including an elevator with seven floors. In the future, all students will be accommodated in new hostels. NIT Calicut also has good healthcare facilities, including a 24x7 ambulance service and highly qualified doctors.
 

Infrastructure Rating
NIT Calicut also has good infrastructure in its departments, including highly advanced labs that provide a good learning experience for students. It also has many resources that help researchers conduct research in their respective fields. NIT Calicut has one of the top two architecture departments in India, along with IIT Roorkee.
 

Campus Rating
NIT Calicut is also known for its excellent festivals, Tathva and Ragam. Tathva is a technical festival, while Ragam is a cultural festival. Both festivals attract over 30,000 attendees, people come from all over India, and feature performances by celebrities. Overall, being a part of NIT Calicut is an excellent experience.

    I recently completed my first year in NIT Calicut and I can say that my first year was perfect. You can get admission in NIT Calicut through JOSAA counselling if you have good rank in all India JEE examination. First year was full of enjoyment as academically there is not so much pressure.     I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes.     I chose Electronic and Communication Engineering. I chose this branch as it is in 5th in rank among all the other NITs. The campus life in is so good. Even though we have so much work, life here is very good and calm. You will never regret choosing this one.
