Madras Institute of Technology Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Chennai

The college has 6 boys’ hostels named Amravathy Hostel, Birla Hostel, and Bhavani Hostel. There are 3 more boys’ hostel buildings that are in the vicinity of the college. Birla Hostel is for final year students and Bhavani for the first year. Each floor of the Birla hostel had 6 rooms on double sharing and there were 4 bathrooms in all. Likewise, there are also 4 girls' hostels out of which one is the NRI girl’s hostel. Girl’s hostels are also divided as per year. There are over 1000 students who stay in the boy’s hostel and the mess was so huge that it can accommodate them all at a go. MIT has many hostels out of which some are inside the campus and some are outside. The hostels that are inside the campus are restricted for students who are not a part of the hostels. The Orchid Boys hostel which is outside the campus has allowed college students to visit their hostel friends at the hostels. Likewise, there were many girls' hostels inside the campus where the entry for students like us was restricted. All girls hostel were inside the campus. The mess was common for both boys and girls as MIT Mess building was of 2 floors where ground floor was reserved for girls and the 1st and 2nd floor for the boys.Read Full Review
