The college follows the syllabus of University of Calcutta. Overall, the academic performance of the students is good. The eligibility criteria of this college isn’t too high like other renowned institution because you can get admission here with decent grades.

I applied for B.Com (Hons.) course in both evening and morning shift since I was unsure of my acceptance. But I got selected in both shifts and I enrolled myself in Morning batch because of the convenient timings. The eligibility criteria is pretty easy. Student only need to be passed in 12th standard with a decent percentage. But I cleared it easily because I got 94% in ISC. The admission process was fully online, filled an online application, and upload the marksheets. Then, you have to wait for the selection lists and then pay the admission fee and other charges and got the ID card and other documents. The exams in B.Com course is once every 6 months. Basically, there are 8 semesters spanned over 4 years and there is a semester end exam after every 6 months.

The fees for morning batch is Rs. 44,900 every semester. This means approximately Rs. 3,60,000 for the entire course. Everything is included in this, the tuition fee, admission, registrations, and other charges. The fees for evening batch is less (Rs. 39,900 per semester). There is a scholarship discount for people who scored above 90% in class 12th. I don't have much info on that. The course admission is on merit basis. You must score more than 85% to be a part of the morning section. I personally am preparing for CS and therefore the college hours are very good. There are regular exams held so that we can keep the topics fresh in our minds. I get a lot of work insights from the professors here and BESC is one of the best colleges to study Commerce in Kolkata.
