South Calcutta Law College Fees Structure & Courses 2026, Kolkata

Being a government-run college admission can only be done through an entrance exam conducted by the Calcutta University known as CULET. You have to rank well under 500-600 among 12000-15000 students as it is ranked 2 under Calcutta University and ranked 3 Law college in West Bengal. I chose it to pursue the legal profession. The admission process is simple after clearing the entrance exam you will be given your eligibility in the colleges under Calcutta University according to your ranking and preference. The frequency of exam is twice a year, the same being divided in two semesters, and for internal assessment you have to submit projects accordingly one for each subject.

The course fee is the standout factor here. Being a government college the fee of a 5-year course with all admission fee and semester fee is around Rs. 60,000, which if being compared to other colleges or universities is a fee per semester. A lot of universities and NLUs for that matter can contest with Calcutta University law course but trust me none of them would be close. Here, students come from various parts to study law and that is because the kind of content or the curriculum we have is unmatched. So on that note our college is doing well with the syllabus as it is completed on time with a strong ma date from the management that 50 lectures of each subjects are mandatory for faculties to hold every semester.

Just Rs. 9,600 a year is our fees and some charges makes it to Rs. 12,000 a year. I do not think we will see a more affordable college for Law than this.Read Full Review
