More Detail about CMR University, Bangalore
During the year 2013, the CMR University (CMRU) was set up. Based in the Indian state of Karnataka’s capital city that is Bangalore, the CMR University is a State Private and Co-educational one. The University has the accreditation of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). And the CMRU’s promoting body is the CMR Jnanadhara Trust.
The University’s founder is the Late Sri Chikka Muniyappa Reddy who was a renowned philanthropist and educationalist. The Trust was constituted in the year 1990, as part of his vision and to pay a tribute to him. Over the years, the Trust has established, and continues to manage the CMR Group of Institutions (CMRGI) that includes the CMR Uni. Besides, the Group consists of several higher education institutes such as schools and universities. This is in addition to developing centers of excellence of academic departments, consultancy, research, and training.
The CMRU takes pride in being a New Age one, adopting a creative and cross-disciplinary approach. More so, the Center conforms to its distinctive ‘Education Engagement Model’. Also, the University’s curriculum is industry-oriented, with an emphasis on experiential and integrated learning.
In fact, case studies, group discussions, and participative approach – all are part of the University’s pedagogy. More so, the University works to maintain relationships with industries to bridge the industry-academia gap while having a focus on skill development.
Besides, the University’s Ethos is centered on creativity for the pupils to excel in the chosen domains. All the same, there is focus on developing the pupils’ real-life skills like presentation, research, initiative, and teamwork ones.
Additionally, the University’s mission is to provide interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary programs, supported by technology-driven learning methods. Other than that, the CMRU strives to develop leaders and critical thinkers for propelling the country’s development.
Apart from that, the University’s curriculum includes Global Business Foundation Skills coursework that is devised by NASSCOM’s IT/ITES Sector Skills Council. Even so, the courses are designed in partnership with IBM for providing industry-based courses.
Further, the University is a signatory to the United Nations Initiative that is the UN Global Compact, Principles for Responsible Management Education.
Also, the University boasts of modern infrastructural facilities. That said, the CMRU library is well-stocked, having digital access support and modern IT infrastructure.
More so, the CMR University admission procedure entails both online and offline mode of admissions. To apply online, the candidates have to download the application form. And follow by submitting the same after filling in the required fields. However, for applying offline, the aspirants have to visit the campus for collecting the application form.
Though, to apply for CMRU’s B.Tech programs, the applicant has to go through any one of the following methods: Common Entrance Test, COMEDK, CMRUAT.
The COMEDK is a state-level examination that the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) conduct. And, the CMRUAT (a University-level exam) is the CMR University entrance exam.
There are many scholarships to avail at CMRU. Nonetheless, the University awards scholarships depending on sports, leadership, sports, and needs.
