Brief Overview of SSE
The Chancellor of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan founded SSE in 2001. SIMATS was accorded deemed university status in 2005 as per the UGC Act. The college campus is vast and expansive, straddling the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway (NH4), and falls under Kancheepuram District in Chennai. There are twelve schools of study including information technology, computer science, electrical, electrical and electronics engineering departments.
Of the 80 universities around the world that have been awarded the IET-UK accreditation, SSE is one of them. SIMATS collaborates with several universities and higher educational institutes located abroad for facilitating joint research. The engineering school has an ‘international office’ that helps students with pursuing their final year/semester studies in a foreign university.
