Saveetha University

The Saveetha University (also known as Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences - SIMATS) was established in 2005. The Deemed to be University is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

SIMATS Chennai is approved by UGC and AICTE. It is recognised by INC, BCI, PCI, NMC, COA, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET). It is accredited by NAAC, NBA, and NABH. Saveetha University / SIMATS Chennai is also ISO certified.

The Saveetha University offers a variety of Bachelors, Masters, Certificate, Diploma, PG Diploma, and Doctoral programs in multiple streams. It is popular for its education especially in the fields of Engineering, Dental, and Medical fields. The SIMATS has around 14 constituent units, some of these are Saveetha School of Law, SIMATS Engineering, Saveetha School of Nursing, and so on.

• In 2024, the University was ranked by NIRF at 11^th position in the ‘Universities’ category and it has achieved 20^th rank in the ‘Research Institutions’ category. It has also secured 22^nd position in the ‘Overall’ category.
• The QS World Rankings 2025 ranked the SIMATS Chennai at 57^th position in the ‘Asian University Rankings - Southern Asia’ category, and on a band of 951-1000 in the ‘QS World University Rankings’ category.

Admission Process

The admission form can be filled online via the official website of the Saveetha University – SIMATS Chennai. Admission to the B.E / B.Tech programs will be done on the basis of the merit rank in SCAT, aggregate marks in the qualifying exam, seat availability & student’s wishlist priority. For B.A.LL.B, students will be offered admission based on their Admission Test Score, Group Discussion, and Interview.

Reservation Criteria

For MBA, admission seats will be filled in accordance with the reservation policy of the Central Government (including EWS) / Respective State Government / Union Territories.
