    B.Tech in Marine Engineering at IMU Kolkata
    The course that I have chosen at Indian Maritime University Kolkata campus is B.Tech in Marine Engineering. Marine engineering is still a very less known about field in India and has a lot of potential to grow. To get yourself enrolled here, one must clear IMU CET exam with a good rank and must appear for IMU counseling. One must be perfectly fit in order to join this field ensuring that you do not have any problems mentioned on the DG shipping site.
    The total fees in IMU Kolkata for B.Tech (Marine Engineering) is Rs. 1,25,000 per semester and including other expenses it goes upto Rs. 2,75,000 per year. This fee includes the mess fee, hostel fee and uniform fee. There are a couple of government scholarships, which you can apply for, but there isn't any specific scholarship provided by the University.Read Full Review

    Admission Process for IMU Kolkata: Eligibility and Criteria
    To enroll here, you have to foremost get more than 65% in CBSE board. There are other criteria for other boards along with 60%+ PCM aggregate as well as more than 50% in English. If you have passed in all those, you are qualified for IMU CET exam. You have to be one among top 1000 ranks to get the admission. Although, there are certain exceptions like SC, ST, etc. There is a state quota which gives preference to some states. Once you achieve the expected rank, you will have to go for university allocation. Finally, you are in the university which is also known as DMET & MERI.
    The fee structure is self justified with Rs. 1,22,500 being even semester fee and Rs. 1,52,500 being odd semester fee. in which Rs. 30,000 is the caution deposit. There are numerous scholarships for EWS which help you to pay the fee. If you are from Bihar or UP, you hit a jackpot.     Choose IMU Kolkata for Marine Engineering
    The academics of the university are a little tough, as it is a combination of both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. But on the other hand the study is also very interesting. The exams are held in the university twice in a year and the entry in the university is through IMUCET exam The admission in the university prioritises the top rankers of the exams after which the cadets go through a medical test as well. Only after passing that, admission is possible in the University. The real life challenges in academic is time management.
    The annual fees of the university is Rs. 27,500; out of which Rs. 19,200 is tuition fees and the rest is the hostel and accommodation fees.Read Full Review
