To ensure that there is disciplined and harmonious living environment, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya University hostel authorities have formed a comprehensive set of rules and regulations for all the residents; some of such rules are listed below:

• It is mandatory for the residents to occupy their allotted rooms. Also, they are expected to vacate these rooms within 7 days of the end of the last examination or after the end of each academic term (for maintenance & repair work).
• During arrival and departure from the residences, all the inmates need to fill-in key details in the hostel’s entry register for visitors.
• Ragging in any form will not be entertained at the accommodation complexes offered by the University.
• Students are not allowed to damage any property of the hostel premises such as furniture, fixtures, etc. issued by the wardens.
• Smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicating substances are banned within the hostel premises. Also, if any of such items are found in students’ rooms, they will directly be suspended from their respective hostels.
• Boarders cannot bring outside students & other guests at the residences of the University.
• All the hostel inmates must have their meals at the residential mess & outside food is strictly banned.
• No hosteller is allowed to enter into rooms of any other student without the permission from the wardens.
• During their time at the University’s residences, students are forbidden from keeping any electrical item exceeding 250 Watt such as iron, heaters, induction, etc. However, with prior permission of concerned authorities, students can keep coolers during the summer season.
• Residents are solely responsible for securing their personal valuables & the authorities will not be liable for the loss and damage of such items.
