Mithibai College of Arts B.A Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process, Mumbai

My course is B.A in Psychology & Philosophy. One needs good percentage in 12th board examination it can be from CBSE or HSC. Now there are two types of students in-house students & outside students and the admission list comes accordingly the passing percentage for in-house students is specifically low as compared to outsiders. I got 91.4% in my 12th boards and I got the admission after 2nd list i.e. 3rd list. Then you have to submit some documents like Adhaar card, Mumbai university’s form, college admission form, 12th & 10th class marksheet, birth certificate, etc. In-house students have to submit documents offline and outside students have to submit the documents online. Now from this year, it has implemented new education. Now there are several other subjects. For example, in 1st semester, there are 2 Open electives (one will get option to choose), Indian Knowledge System, Universal Human Values, Environmental Studies, Skill Enhancement and Vocational Course (I got subjects of Psychology in 1st sem and subjects of Philosophy in 2nd sem for skill enhancement & vocational course). Then there is end semester exam for main subjects it is of 60 marks and other subjects are of 30 marks. There are presentation and assignments too. Overall the main subject (for me Psychology and Philosophy they are of 100 marks in total) and other subjects (i.e. open elective and all are of 50 marks in total) the marking scheme and subjects differ across streams and course. In addition, there is an entrance exam for BMM course, which is compulsory to give for the course, and only 60 students are selected because only 60 seats are available in the course.

The fee for my course is Rs. 13,000 only for 1st year as my course is aided course whereas course like BAF & BMM have much higher fee (like BMM course fees is around Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 70,000 for a year). The course that I chose is BA (Hons.) in Economics. There is no entrance exam for this course hence, it is primarily based on the marks of 12th. After that, your selection will be done according to the merit list of class 12th. The admission process is easy. Your internal examinations, which are ICA, are conducted online and objective types. Each semester has one final examination. In each year, you will have 2 semesters which means there are 2 final exams in a year, which are of moderate level.

The fee structure differs for each course. For example for BA students, the fee for each year is Rs. 12,000. You can apply for scholarships if you fulfill all the criteria. The fee is little high for International students.Read Full Review

While I was in junior college the classrooms were not digital. Then the college went into complete transformation and all the classrooms now have interactive smart boards. The junior college syllabus is as per the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The college is affiliated with Mumbai University and the syllabus for B.A. was in line with the university. However, Mithibai had included some extra subjects just to burden the students as I felt they were of no use. The best part is the fees. The junior college fees for girls in my time were just 30 rupees. The college fees too were quite nominal and talking about the teachers that we had were amazing.

Not just the kind of knowledge that they had but were also skilled and knew how to bring out the best in each one of us. The only sad part was compulsory attendance. If you miss a single lecture, you will be absent for the entire day and this is something that needs serious attention. College lecturers have always taught us to give importance to practical sessions as well. Hence, the college ensured that the student is industry ready, post their graduation. The graduate B.A. in English is divided into 6 semesters and the subject which started at 2 in the first semester increased to 6 in the 6th semester.
