DES Pune University was founded by the renowned Deccan Education Society to impart higher studies in the field of Engineering, Management, Arts, Commerce, and Science. The university campus is nestled at the centre of Pune.

DESPU Pune offers courses at UG, PG, and Doctorate level. The multidisciplinary university runs a wide range of courses including B.A, B.Sc, BBA, B.Tech, M.Sc, M.Com, M.A, Ph.D, etc. The Post Graduate Diploma programs in International Business, Taxation, Big Data Analysis, and Banking and Finance are also offered in the School of Commerce & Management functioning at DESPU Pune. The University provides Doctorate degrees in the following specialisations: CSE, CS, ECE, Economics, Psychology, and Life Sciences. To enroll for the Ph.D program, eligible candidates must appear in the Ph.D Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) conducted by DESPU. The qualifying marks in the Ph.D Entrance Test are 50% (45% for reserved category candidates). Candidates qualified in the NET / JRF / GATE / SET / CEED / GPAT are exempted from the Entrance Test and their selection is based on Interview/ Viva Voce. The Eligibility Criteria for admission to Ph.D program are:

• Candidates who have cleared 1 year Master’s degree program after 4 years Bachelor’s degree program or 2 years Master’s degree program after 3 years Bachelor’s degree program with a score of 55% or higher in total, Or
• Candidates who have cleared 4 years Bachelor’s degree program with a score of minimum 75% in total, Or
• Candidates who have cleared M.Phil program with a score of 55% or higher marks in total.

5% relaxation permitted to SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / EWS / Differently-abled and other categories as decided by the commission timely. Reservation is applicable to candidates residing in Maharashtra State only and candidates outside Maharashtra will be treated as Open category applicants.
