Punjab Agricultural University

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana was established in 1962 as a State-Public University. The University is located at Ludhiana, Punjab, and approved by UGC. PAU Ludhiana is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB).

PAU Ludhiana is famous for making its contribution towards Agriculture education by offering courses at UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, Certificate, and Doctoral levels to the students at an affordable fee structure.

The Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana has around 6 constituent Colleges including College of Agriculture, College of Basic Science & Humanities, College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and a few others.

Admission Process

The PAU admissions are based on the marks secured by the students in the qualifying exam / entrance tests (CET / AAT / BSET / MET) / State or National level exam / Interview / Counseling, as per the requirement of the course.

The Punjab Agricultural University admissions are completely online and students need to apply through the official website.

*The International / NRI / OCI students are also eligible for the admissions at the PAU Ludhiana. Moreover, the courses & fees, eligibility criteria, etc. may differ for them.

Reservation Criteria

The admission seats of the University are filled on the basis of different criteria, which are mentioned below:

• For UG programs except Diploma
  • 20% of the admission seats are filled by the students who have qualified All India Entrance examination (CUET) conducted by NTA.
  • Some of the remaining seats are for the NRI / OCI students (against additional seats).
• For PG programs
  • 30% of the admission seats are for the students who have qualified the AIEE-PG exam conducted by the NTA.
  • Remaining seats of the PG programs (except self-supporting courses) are reserved for the NRI /OCI students.
• 85% of the admission seats in the MBA and M.Tech program are reserved for the students belonging to Punjab and the remaining 10% for the other states.
• 15% additional seats in the self-supporting courses are available for the students belonging to other states.

* Reservation for the nominees from Foreign Countries (against additional seats) in both UG & PG programs. Moreover, remaining seats of both Bachelor and Master level courses are filled by the students who are residents of Punjab or Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The University offers various scholarships to the deserving and meritorious students based on different criteria. The University grants a monetary amount to the students who have fulfilled the eligibility criteria of the respective scholarships.

A ‘University Scholarships’ is available for the students enrolled in the UG programs and it is granted based on the marks secured in the entrance / qualifying examination. Moreover, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts an ‘AIEEA-UG’ exam and based on the marks secured by the student, they offer ‘National Talent Scholarship’ for the complete undergraduate course.

Apart from this, several other scholarships are offered to the students and some of them are mentioned below:

• College of Agriculture alumni Association Scholarships: It is offered to the students enrolled in the B.Sc Agriculture (Hons.) program.
• Punjab Government Scholarships: The students can avail various scholarships offered by the Punjab Government under different categories like merit-based, economically backward, reserved, etc. Some of the scholarships are listed below:
