ICT Mumbai Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

The ICT Mumbai provides accommodation facilities to the students offering a peaceful environment which helps them in getting a comfortable living & academic experience during their stay.

Institute of Chemical Technology has built around 4 hostel blocks in their campus out of which 2 are for boys and 2 for girls and they can collectively accommodate more than 900 students. In addition, the rooms at ICT Mumbai hostels are available in multiple sharing which includes double, triple, quadruple, and quintuple. The yearly ICT Mumbai hostel fees range between Rs. 34,000/- to Rs. 39,000/-.

The ICT Mumbai hostel fees vary depending on the occupancy type opted by the students. In addition, several charges such as hostel, sinking fund (Rs. 3000/-), and other fees (sports & cultural (Rs. 3000/-) and mess depreciation) are included in the fee amount.

* Students opting for the accommodation facilities should know that the admission in the hostel will be valid for only 1 year.

* If any student decides to cancel the hostel facility before the beginning of classes then Rs. 3000/- as processing charges will be deducted, as per the refund policy.

Several rules and regulations are implemented by the authorities in order to maintain decorum and discipline within the premises. If any student violates any of these rules, then strict action including expulsion from the hostel, fine, etc. will be imposed by the authorities.

Below-listed are the rules that students staying at ICT Mumbai hostels need to follow:

• Alcohol, smoking and use of other intoxicated substances is strictly prohibited within the Deemed University’s and hostel premises.
• The residents must report back to their respective rooms before the specified timing which is 11:30 PM for boys and 10:00 PM for girls hostel; except the days where prior permission has been obtained by the hosteller from the respective warden.
• Ragging is considered as a punishable offence and it is strictly banned inside the hostel premises.
• Hostellers should maintain silence and decorum during prescribed study and night hours to avoid any kind of disturbance to the fellow hostelmates.
• Residents should occupy only the rooms officially allotted to them and are not permitted to change or exchange rooms without prior approval by the warden.
• Electrical appliances such as immersion rods, heaters or cooking devices are not permitted inside the hostel rooms due to safety concerns.
• The hostel authorities are not responsible for the safe keeping of valuable items or money. Therefore, students can only keep them at their own risk.

At Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai Campus, the hostel blocks 1 and 5 are allotted to boys which can collectively accommodate around 478 students. On the other hand, hostel number 2 and 3 are for girls which has an accommodation capacity of approximately 568 female students.

The ICT Mumbai hostel rooms are available in double, triple, four, five & more seater occupancies and are equipped with bed, table, and chair. Apart from this, a library is present within the hostel to provide uninterrupted study hours to the hostellers. Besides that, numerous other recreational facilities such as indoor and outdoor games, gymnasium, and TV room are there to provide a comfortable and homely living environment to the residents.

Within the boys hostel, around 2 separate messes are available and a combined mess for both girls' hostels. In addition, the seating capacity of mess A is around 350 and approximately 450 students (each) can be seated in B & C.

The messes are managed by warden and run by the students on a co-operative basis. In addition to this, 3 meals in a day are served to the hostellers which are nutritious and hygienically prepared. Moreover, in order to avail the ICT Mumbai hostel food facility, students need to pay Rs. 25,000/-. Along with this, at the time of joining, hostellers have to pay a mess deposit of Rs. 5000/- (refundable).

There are several mess rules that residents have to follow; some of them are stated below:

• Students must adhere to the pre-decided menu of the mess and hostellers are not allowed to fulfill individual meal requests.
• Excessive and recurring food wastage may result in disciplinary action.
• Hostellers are not allowed to cook food within the residential premises except within the cooking areas of the mess.
• Food is served exclusively in the dining hall during the specified mess hours.
