Savitribai Phule Pune University Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Pune

The university campus has a common hostel and PUMBA has 20 seats reserved for them in the boys' hostel. As most students didn’t opted the hostel due to its cleanliness, I found no reason to stay away from the beautiful campus as I have myself hired a person to clean my room on a daily basis. Yes, I have to manage with common washrooms but at the cost at which I have got the hostel in Pune, I think if I was staying independently, it would have been my rent for two months. The mess is good but the dishes that they prepare are something, I have never heard about. Chowli ki sabzi and all are something that people of my state would have never imagined. In breakfast, south Indian items and Pohe are the only options. Dinner menu is still manageable but I mostly have my food at university canteen or the eateries close to the PUMBA campus.Read Full Review

Pune University hostels have a minimal quota reserved for PUMBA students. To be precise, just 20 seats each for boys and girls. The fee is just 10k per semester but even the hostels were such only. I stayed at an apartment close to the university and just like me, many of our batch mates too stayed in a rented apartment. Pune is no short of finding a nice apartment in whichever area you want. So, if you get hostels, consider yourself lucky, or else you can easily find properties near the university at a reasonable cost.Read Full Review

PUMBA is inside the university campus, and the university hostels are common. There are seats reserved for PUMBA students, but very few. Thus, getting a seat in university hostels is nearly impossible. PUMBA is located at Ganeshkhind which is a kind of student area. I used to stay at an apartment which was not at stone throw distance but at a walk able distance from the University. Hostel part needs refurbishing because the girls ratio at PUMBA was quite less due to lack of hostel facility.Read Full Review
