Banaras Hindu University B.Com Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process, Varanasi

My course is B.Com (Hons.) and I believe this course can help build a strong foundation for Commerce students. The motive for choosing it was to be able to complete my graduation from a reputed University. For getting admission in my course at this University, you need to appear for CUET exam and choose the required subjects, which are, Accountancy, Business Studies and General Test. The combination of all these subjects makes a total of 650 marks. The cut-off generally depends on the toughness of the exam and the performance of other students in a shift. When I appeared for the exam, the first round cutoffs were 505-510. And as far as I remember, this year the cut-off marks were around 548. These cut-off marks decrease with each round of counselling. Students having sports or EWS quota are benefited. The admission process was always tedious but it was still okay. The frequency of exams is not as often. Mid-terms are generally taken as per the will of the subject teachers.

The main benefit of studying at this University in my opinion is its low fees. I am a general category student and my first year fee was Rs. 2300/-. Later, I had to pay only Rs. 1150/-. This was all for the fee I had to pay. There were no extra charges. But, if a student takes admission through a paid seat, they have to pay a higher amount, since their admission took place at a comparatively lower score. Their fee was around Rs. 16,000/- for the first year. This fee structure does not include the hostel fee. There are many Government scholarships available for which student can apply. I am pursuing B.Com (Hons.) in Financial Market Management. It is a specialised course and the reason I chose this course is the placement opportunities it offers. To become eligible for admission here, students need to complete their higher secondary education and appear for CUET exam. The admission process is quite easy here and available online which further makes it easier for students to apply. Students have to come to the University only for physical verification of their documents whose dates are generally held a week of the admissions. End semester exams are held twice a year (each semester), but in between many class tests and a mid semester examination is also conduct by University. The curriculum at this University is up to date and prepares students for their respective industry challenges.

My course fee is approx. Rs. 32,000/- annually since it is a specialised course. This fee is only inclusive of the course fee. I have chosen B.Com (Hons.) as I want to become CA and the syllabus of both the courses is same, & therefore I chose this stream. The University accepts scores of CUET. All those who have passed 12th exams are eligible and the age limit is 21 years. It considers marks of 3 subjects that are Accountancy, Business Studies, and General Aptitude Test. The admission process is carried forward by counseling in 2 to 3 rounds and it is followed by online document verification and then physical verification. In my course in a semester, there is a mid-term exam in form of class test and assignments & an end semester exam testing overall learning. The curriculum is more theoretical based. But there is a special course called Financial Markets Management which is specialised and provides a better picture of real-life scenarios.

The fee of the course is very nominal which is about Rs. 2,300/- per year. Registration fees of Rs. 600/- was charged at the time of applying for the University and after that direct first semester fees of Rs. 1,150/- was charged after admission was confirmed.
