Choosing my course was a task. Choosing what college I want was a very easy process though. Getting into NIFT was a dream come true and honestly for most of the time before the result came, I thought I won't get a good rank. The day the result was out was the day that changed everything. From getting a room in the hostel to making friends from all over India, NIFT has helped and encouraged me throughout the process. The faculty has provided much support in our academics as well as external accomplishments. Being from the department of Fashion Technology, it is hard to find out what you are actually studying and what the course is all about. However, the internship opportunities provided by the campus make us learn everything in a real life practical way. I joined NIFT Hyderabad in 2021 for the course bachelors of fashion technology (BFT). I chose the course and it was something that is not known by a lot of people and also because I wanted to lean to something that was engineering related, but not literally that. Upon research, I found that the field was something that had a lot of scope and was something that was expanding tremendously over the last few years, which means more job opportunities and better salary packages. I had also taken PCM as my major subjects for my 11th and 12th and wanted to move on with some course that had the same basic requirements. Fashion is something that is really interesting to study and research about and I would urge everyone interested in fashion to consider this course without the need of drawing or artistic skills. For every person who has dire interest in fashion and is not able to study as it has restrictions (can be because of lack of artistic skills or any creative skills for that matter) can choose this to stay in the same field. For people who are not necessarily interested in fashion, but have interest in marketing, merchandising, or even engineering, they can opt for this course.
