Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication MJMC Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process, Pune

SIMC is a niche institute and the niche course had niche subjects like business statistics, advertising business, and managerial economics to name a few. Here again though the institute even though was far off from Pune, the media people used to come to the institute and have workshops here. The course was for the ones who believes in experimental learning because classes were just for fun. One thing which I have never heard or seen before was that our institute has tie-ups with many foreign institutes and students were free to take semester exchange courses and study in those universities.

Forget the books and get on the road is how the academics was done here. No book can teach journalism until we are on road sweating it out with our seniors and media people. Classes were just a formality as on days, we had nothing to do, we attended lectures. Out of 120 students in our batch, one will only find 40 students at a class. Everyone was assigned their tasks and the people with whom we had to work from the second year. The first year was a learning curve at the campus and the second year was an action-packed film where we survived to live every day thrill.

Is it correct to say that academics here were close to outstanding? Well, it’s a wrong statement according to me as academics here were indeed exceptional. Books were just a medium as unless and until the practical application of everything was done, the chapter never ended. The course made us work as a trainee in the field we would be joining for the entire duration because once we took a project in hand, all we had to do was inform the college about it, and they would excuse us from other things. So, the academics here were like the plate is in front of you; now you decide how much you want to eat.
