IIT Jodhpur B.Tech Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process

I chose the Mechanical Engineering course, actually that course selected me due to my all India rank in JEE Advanced rank but I don't think it’s bad. Approximately it was between 8000- 9000 rank. The process for the admission is that they first contact us by our mail. Later, they'll update us on what all do we need to bring and what to do next. Some seniors help the juniors while joining new student. The semesters are conducted at a gap of 5 to 5.5 months approximately. The academics help in real life challenges by making real life based projects.

For SC/ST there is no tuition fee applicable. If OBC students or any others have family income certificate with less than 1 LPA, they'll get their tuition fees back as remission. If the income is in range of 1 LPA – 5 LPA, they receive Rs. 67,000/- as fee remission.Read Full Review

I'm currently enrolled in Engineering Science which is a combination of Department of Computer Science & Department of Bioengineering. The admission here for B.Tech courses is done through JEE Advanced with the opening rank being 1200 and closing rank somewhere around 15,000 for General category. Students are required to take part in JoSAA counselling. There is continuous evaluation for all courses with two major examinations i.e., Mid-Semester and End-Semester carrying atleast 25% and 40% of total evaluation, respectively. The academics are closely aligned with real-life problems with labs & serving as ways for us to apply book knowledge into real-life. There are also a lot of field trips organized by all departments which let us explore industries.

The fee structure at IIT Jodhpur is akin to the fee structure of other IITs ranging from around Rs. 1,30,000/- per semester. The Tuition fees is around Rs. 1,00,000/- and the Hostel fees is around Rs. 20,000/-. Fee remissions are given to SC/ST students in Tuition fees. I chose Computer Science & Engineering (B.Tech). Admission happens through JoSAA Counseling. When it comes to CSE courses, we are not just taught theory but like also made to solve questions and stuff. There are projects and stuff as well. In my branch, there are like many students who are very studious.

For a General category student, the fee is around 2,00,000/- per semester (including mess and hostel fees). The registration fees is I guess Rs. 36,000/-, which was supposed to be paid right after Counseling. I think students of Economically Backward Category and SC/ST do get some discounts although I am not completely sure about it. The entire fee payment procedure happens through our online portal.
