Government Engineering College Palakkad B.Tech Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process

I am pursuing information technology here. The course curriculum is satisfactory. IT is an emerging field today and that was my reason to choose this course. Students are allotted GEC on the basis of the rank they secure in the KEAM entrance examination. The admission process involves three allotment phases. Internal exams are held frequently (twice) and is followed by the externals. Curriculum comes under KTU. The schedules are a bit hectic to be honest as it is trying to cope up with the lag happened due to Covid. Difficulty levels of exams are quite moderate.

Fees are semester based. It is around Rs.8,000/- and it varies with each semester. College charges some admission fees which is pretty affordable too. Students with poor financial background has access to many scholarships like the Eegrantz, Pragati etc. Pragati is around Rs.50,000/- per annum I guess. I chose Information Technology because I am really interested in the field of computers. The eligibility criteria are to write the KEAM exam and get a rank above 6k. The admission process is simple and can be done alone. The frequency of exams is once a year. The academics are upto date and help us face real life challenges by giving us problems similar to real life tragedies.

My course has a fee of Rs.16,000 a year and Rs. 8,000 per semester. This amount usually involves all the charges. There are many scholarships available in our college and they are really helpful. The scholarships give great discounts and are available for most of the students.Read Full Review

The eligibility for this course in this college is KEAM entrance exam. You need to pass the entrance exam and students are given admission in the basis of rank. There are also many categories of reservation. In the reservation also admission is given in the basis of rank. In this college, in mechanical engineering there are about 70 students are in a class. There is a lateral entry in second year, for that diploma is need in that specific course. To write KEAM entrance exam you need science in plus two.
