I took admission in this institute because I don't have any other option. My JEE Advanced rank is not good enough so that I can get institutes above IIT-BHU in ranking. One of the major reasons for opting HTID institute because branch change or discipline change is very easy in this institute and its placement are good enough. It also beats the average package of top IITs. It is also very near to my home town Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Varanasi is very good city. It has a fond of places to visit or to enjoy.

Most of the Professors are inefficient to teach the student thus they don’t able to understand the courses. Courses are very easy to gain marks. Some professor’s needs 75% of attendance but some do not. Humanities professors have made compulsion of 75 % attendance. For the attendance you just have to go class in last 20 minutes and come back to hostel. You can also sleep and do anything during the classes. If you don't want to pursue your career in your core then tell the professor they will give the relaxation in your attendance if anyone wants to pursue his/her career then meet with the problem. They will provide their best support to the students. You can ask your doubt anytime in their cabin. You can assist in any research project of your professor for the experience.

The young professors of IIT-BHU are very supportive. The new professors who comes after the IT becomes IIT they are good and always stand in the support of students. But that professor who is very old and continues after IT Becomes IIT they are not kind enough they are not supportive. They behave like normal government institute. New professor’s researches are very good. 18 professors of IIT-BHU come under the top 2% professors in the world by Stanford University. The administration of IIT is very slow. You can't conduct open book test here for that you have to take permission from director and senate which takes minimum 6 months of time for approval.

Here an organization which manages the placement works called Training and Placement Cell (TPC) IIT-BHU. It is a student and faculty body which takes care of all the responsibility regarding placements. Placements are very good here. TPC works very lenient because of the involvement of the student from each year and each discipline there are three representatives. The core member team of TPC consist 3rd and 4th year students. You are free as student to give advice and suggestion for companies for the placement. But there are also some irregularities in the organization TPC. It gives favor to those students who work for TPC and their friends. Both the core and noncore companies came here for placements. But the core companies do not pay more. 90 % of the noncore companies are open for all disciplines. There are easy to get a good placement of handsome package.

Hostel facility is not good enough because infrastructure of IIT-BHU is very bad. 90% of the building is too old. You have to live with two people which left not enough space for living of single person. Mess is good. It is cheaper than any other IIT hostel. You are not allowed to enter the hostel after 10 PM in first year. Second year onwards you have no restriction. Two hostels are newly made which is good. And two are in under construction. You will face drinking water issue here because there is only one hostel which installed RO drinking machine. Hostel administration is very careless. Even you can't complain any hostel issue to your warden because they are your professor.

All of the buildings of the institute are very old. But few are new and well equipped. We have student activity centre in the campus where you can play and takes coaching of all indoor games it also has gym facility which is well equipped. We have library where you can found every book if any book is not present then you have note down the name of book in the library office they. EIL brought that book within one month. We have two large fields named gymkhana ground and adv ground. All outdoor games are played and coached in the gymkhana ground. All departments are very old. You don't find air conditioner in the class room. You have to go very far from the hostels to the classrooms and departments. All old building is scheduled to renew one by one.

Campus life is good but not so good. Our campus is open campus so there are security issues here. You don’t able to enjoy night life like other IIT's because it is an open campus and you are in Uttar Pradesh. there are mischievous student of BHU so called Birla hostel students of arts faculty they have only one task to create problems for IIT student. They hate IIT's student. They always come in IIT side and mock on students those who are walking with girls. There are many dark spot in campus. Where many incidents happened. There is no proper surveillance. You have one benefit that you are in Varanasi so you travel many places and enjoy the scenery of beautiful Ghats. Our campus is green lush campus. BHU is the Asia’s biggest institute in land. It has more than 60000 hosteller’s student. But you have stay with dirty institute politics and locals.
