D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi B.Tech Review By Abhishek Raikwar

I spent almost 1 year actually going to DY Patil Akurdi as in attending lectures, projects and all. But due to the Covid-19 situation I've been attending classes online since last year. I'm now in the third year of my engineering degree. I'm studying Computer Science Engineering. During my time that I spent in college, there's a lot DYPCOE has given me, honestly. I can guarantee everyone who goes to DYPCOE Akurdi will come as a better version of themselves. The faculty staff is very serious and focused in every way to shape every student for a good possible future. And even when the classes are online, they always try to reach out to students to provide them with college resources.

Everyone knows engineering is a lot more about practical knowledge. And The teachers in DYPCOE know that too, very well. The teaching staff takes care of every way the students will not lack any kind of knowledge and information, whether it is practical or theoretical. The practical labs are well equipped which really is helpful while performing various practicals. The DYPCOE arranges regular tests and assigns assignments and projects which keeps check upon the academics of every student. In DYPCOE, there are regularly arranged guest lectures for keeping students in touch of how their future will be in the field of engineering. The guests' lectures are very interesting most of the time though.

Every student hates exams, ask anyone. But we students also know the importance of exams and so do the faculties in DYPCOE. Most of the staff in different faculties holds certain degrees, like PhD or more. Every other faculty member is experienced and master of his respective subject which is very helpful to the students. Because that way faculty not only provides academic guidance to the students but with their experience they also shape students in a way for future opportunities they will have to face. The faculty is ready to help whenever a student needs them. They are very attentive towards the growth of every student, academically. In DYPCOE, the faculty arranges regular tests and gives assignments that give direction to the academics of the students.

Since I am in the third year of my degree, getting placement in one of the companies that comes to DYPCOE is a very big thing for me. Many reputed companies are there for recruitment of best students from the college. This provides students with a vast exposure to a lot of opportunities. The faculty staff also helps students to prepare for recruitment interviews and also every faculty is very supportive towards the placements. A lot of students have been placed in big companies through college placements and those who don't get placed surely have something on their plate as in experience and knowledge. It itself generates self confidence amongst students.

DY Patil Akurdi Hostel is in the campus and at walking distance. I have stayed in the hostel since the first year of my degree. At the start, it was a bit uncomfortable because it was my first time staying out of my home but with time I made some very good friends in the hostel that made staying there totally worth it. DYPCOE has 2 hostels. Out of which one is for girls and the other one is for boys. The hostel is well maintained and the rooms that are available in both the hostels are good. They provide mess facility also, in the hostel. I am missing those days when we used to eat lunch, dinner together with all the friends.

I will be totally honest here, that DYPCOE has a great infrastructure. I really love the college on the basis of its infrastructure. The college has one big library that is loaded with a huge amount of books. The books in the library cover almost every topic that is taught in the college. The classrooms are big and spacious and are provided with digital facilities also. The college has 2 canteens and I especially don't eat in canteens except a couple of times but the food is good. The college has a sports ground. The college conducts different sports events, tournaments there for students to take part in.

DY Patil Akurdi Campus is very attractive and well maintained. The college has a big parking area where students park their vehicles. The college campus has lots of greenery and it is well groomed and taken care of which makes the campus area pleasant. The faculty keeps you busy with academics and different assignments but the festivals and annual functions generate enthusiasm amongst students. The campus area is kept clean and hygienic. No one forgets his college days and that too when you have a great college life DYPCOE. The college has given me great lessons and memories which one can never forget in lifetime.
