I am a final year student of Instrumentation and control engineering at D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi, Pune. The campus of the college is lush green, attractive and lively. I was allotted this college through CAP round of MHT CET. If I have to mention about my personal experience in the College, it is a great place to be in. I said before that the campus is really huge, attractive and it really feels lively. One gets exposure to various clubs to enhance one's personality and skills. The complex has a total of 11 colleges including 2 management colleges, one pharmacy college, and three engineering colleges. Also the crowd in this college is pretty decent and evokes each other to get better. This College's differentiator is its infrastructure, the campus and the fests it conducts. Fests are conducted in February every year and they do attract a lot of crowd from other Colleges and sponsors. Overall this college is a great place to be at.

I chose instrumentation and control engineering in this college. Very few Colleges in Pune offer this degree. The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. I chose this field because it has a very few skilled professionals and demand for instrumentation engineers is humungous. A candidate requires a minimum score of 80 percentile in CET or 85 percentile in JEE MAIN to get into this course in this college. Then according to the Centralized admission process, one can opt for this college and get into it once allotted. Once you are allotted a seat here, you need to physically visit the college for document verification and seat reservation. Fees is to be paid immediately to freeze the seat. Once the academics begin, the faculty makes sure it is smooth for students to understand the topics and appear for the exams. Exams are held twice in one semester and are conducted by the University of Pune itself. Not only the student is prepared to face the Exams, they are practically taught how engineering is implemented which eventually helps them land into a great job.

The fees for Engineering courses are same for all the branches and all the years, and needs to be paid yearly. It is mandatory to pay full fees at the beginning of the year, and delay in doing so may lead to detention of that student. Total fees is Rs. 1,23,449 for every year and every branch. The breakdown is as follows Tuition fee – Rs. 1,06,478 development fee - Rs. 13,522 and other activity fees - Rs. 3,449.

Faculties are highly qualified in their respective fields, ensuring excellence in both teaching and research. Their teaching is well structured, engaging and incorporates diverse teaching methods that foster student participation and critical thinking. Faculties are highly regarded by students receiving positive feedback for clarity, responsiveness, and mentorship. A group of every 20 students is allotted a mentor who engages with their guardians or parents in order to keep them updated about their ward. Every faculty is committed to professional development of every student in the College.

The placement process at D. Y. Patil College of engineering, Akurdi, has been highly successful, with an impressive placement rate of 85%. The college's placement cell is dedicated in guiding students through every stage of recruitment process. From helping with resume building to organizing mock interviews, the team ensures that the students are well prepared to face industry demands. Companies such as Emerson, Johnson Controls India, Honeywell, Dassault systems, Rockwell Automation, Uno Minda visit the campus for placement drives. The highest package offered by the companies to students is 33 lakh per annum and average package is around 5-7 LPA.
