It’s been many years since I passed out from this college but I remember everything clear crystal clear. DJ Sanghvi Engineering College is Mumbai University affiliated. When it comes to Mumbai University, Dwarkadas J Sanghvi College of Engineering is one of the best ones. This is a Gujrati minority college and you’ll meet many Gujjus here. The admission process is simple because it's online under the authority of Maharashtra State Board. The overall college life is chilled and fun, just suitable for any engineering college. The tension only builds up at the time of exams as there’s plenty of submission to be done.

I had taken up Electronics Engineering. When I was in the college, it was Mumbai University affiliated. And hence the syllabus and the examinations taken were under the same University. But recently, I’ve heard from me fellow aluminises that the college is now autonomous. As it has turned autonomous, the academics have improved to a greater extent. The subjects taught are taught to import knowledge into students and not just for passing the subjects. Engineering college with an autonomous accreditation is a cherry on the cake in terms of the quality of education.

The faculty is a balance of both young and highly experienced ones. Some of the faculty members are masters and PhD holders while some are even authors - particularly from the Production department. Above all the good thing is all the faculty is helpful and friendly in nature. The subjects were taught pretty well, due to their sound experience and knowledge. I think after the college got their autonomous accreditation, the faculties too must have boosted their teaching abilities.

DJ Sanghvi Placements are average. The packages provided by the companies coming in are not more than 6 Lakhs, hence it's not that great. DJ Sanghvi Average Package offered are 3 to 3.15 Lakhs. But the best thing about this college’s placements is that it won’t leave its unplaced students even after passing out. The placement officer ensures 100% placements for the academic year. The faculty focuses on the placements which help the students prepare well for the interviews.

There’s no hostel facility in this college. But that does not keep you away from getting into this college. Because in Mumbai you’ll get plenty of options for staying if you’re from outside Mumbai. If you’re from Mumbai then it’s a no-brainer. Mumbai’s life-line (local train) is at your service. You can travel from any part of Mumbai to this college which is situated in Vile Parle. It is also walking distance for the Vile Parle station.

The infrastructure is one the best from amongst the top engineering colleges in Mumbai. The classrooms are exotic as they have central cooling. Amidst the humidity of Mumbai, having this facility is an amazing thing. The library has good range of books plus laptops and computers which are in working condition. The canteen has a wonderful ambience which pulls the students towards it. The food items ranges from a simple vada pav to a rich brownie and too at a pocket-friendly rate.

DJ Sanghvi College campus is not much big for this college. But the crowd is high-class. As the college is located in a cosmopolitan area, the crowd just matches the locality. The fests are celebrated on a huge scale and all the students show a brilliant exhibition of unity, despite being a Gujrati minority college. Overall it was a great campus life experience.
