Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune or simply PCCoE has been consistently ranked among the top five engineering colleges in Pune and 45th in India. It is ranked 30th in the private colleges of engineering in the Times Engineering Survey. To get a seat in this college one needs to take PCM in their 12th Std and qualify the JEE Mains entrance exam. The admission is done through the CAP rounds which are self-explanatory - one can follow the steps given in the brochure and easily get through the process. When I gave my preference list of colleges, PCCoE was on the top of the list. I had heard a lot about the college but couldn’t get admitted for my degree course so I had made up my mind to do my masters from this college. And by great determination and dedication I finally got a seat for masters. I had a good experience with the college management in the course of two years.

PCCoE have several Center of Excellence in various areas such as Free and Open Source Software Centre, Xilinx CoreEL FPGA & Mentor Graphics, Castalia Research Labs, 3D PLM Product Innovation Lab and so on. All these areas are a boon to the students to grow both in academics and an add-on. My college has been a winner of the SAE BAJA, NASSCOM HACKATHON which shows the level of education imparted among the students. The college also supports the students in participating in Firodiya Karandak, Robocon, Purushottam Karandak, as also in the state and national level sports tournaments and more such huge events. This definitely helps the student build confidence and a great exposure. 135+ patents are named under this college along with 260+ copyrights. 450+ papers are published until now and 25+ books are published which is a pride feeling.

The faculty is strict but determined to impart good quality education to their students. They take unit tests every now and then to keep a check on the progress of the students. The senior faculty is cool and have great teaching skills and good command over English language. The faculty is masters and PhD holders and hence have a good hold of their subjects. The average experience of the faculty is 15 to 20 years. Some have even come from a different profession such as industrial field and adjusted well in this teaching profession.

PCCoE is accredited by KPIT, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro for placements. Every year, a whopping 100 companies come to the college for conducting recruitment drives for the students. The college is very strict when it comes to PCCoE Placement because it aims to have 100% placements. TCS comes in for bulk recruitment and many students get jobs in this drive. Almost 90% of students get jobs in their final year. The best thing of this college is it allows students to appear for placements even after passing out.

There’s a well-maintained hostel for both girls and boys. The hostel building is well-structured and provides all necessary facilities like hot water, clean washrooms and tight security. The food served in the hostel mess is pretty good, at least edible. I’ve had a good hostel life in the course of 2 years. PCCoE Hostel fees too was affordable and worth it.

The infrastructure is awe inspiring. The college building is huge and attractive. The Canteen has limited menu but the food quality is good. The library was established in the year 2014 and is well-equipped with reference books, textbooks, general books, journals, CD ROM, magazines, video lectures, and other valuable reading materials. We had a fully computerised with an ERP system. There are different labs for different trades, like civil lab, computer lab, E&TC lab, electrical lab, BME lab, physics lab, chemistry lab, as well as workshop and server room. There’s also a reading hall where students can sit and study peacefully. Our college also had a big playground where all the sports event took place.

PCCoE organises mega events like Annual gathering, Spectrum, Insperia, Techlligent every year. The crowd of this college is excellent, for many students come from convent schools and colleges. Each event has various amazing competitions organised by different committees. The college campus is surrounded with lush green land which soothes the mind and body and helps in better concentration in studying. Having a green campus is a cherry on the cake for Engineering students.
