Review of National Institute of Technology, Silchar

Overall Rating
As we are B.Tech students mostly we have to learn time management. We have managed our studies with other co curriculum activities. That’s the thing I have learnt here. In our college peaceful nature is available and my college has got good NIRF ranking. I choose NIT Silchar for develop my skills.
 

Academics Rating
From my side I am studying computer science and engineering. Our course coordinators are so helpful in academic purpose. They try to improve my ideologies in computer science department and so many students do hard work for developing the skills. My department provides labs for computer science not only computer science department and also provide other labs like mechanical workshop, engineering graphics, and improve our speaking skills fluently in English. About academics NIT Silchar was good and encouraging many students and their ideas.
 

Faculty Rating
Coming to faculty, most of them teach well and we can understand. But we face some problems with one or two of them because we can't understand. Most of them put their whole efforts to teach us. They have more experience in their subjects. They also train us with moral values, general knowledge, and practical knowledge.
 

Placement Rating
Our college has opportunity to do internships. This is a benefit to students. We have Placement Cells. It makes our placements process easier to get highly paid and secured jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Our institute has separate hostel facilities for girls and boys and also separate hostels for international students. Each hostel has separate canteen. But hostellers have to use common washrooms. We have good mess facilities. Our hostels and mess are hygienic and clean.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Coming to infrastructure, our college has good infrastructure and labs. Our labs are provided with all required equipments. We have student activity centre in short called as SAC. We also have a facility of guest house for guests. Classrooms are hygienic and clean.
 

Campus Rating
We have many clubs which gives us more fun and stress relief. We have cultural clubs like dance, drama clubs. Our college conducts two fests, technosis and incandescence. We enjoyed a lot in these fests as many music bands, singers arrived to our campus. These fests are celebrated for 4 days. On these days many games are launched by our clubs like making RC cars and racing with them, treasure hunt, etc.

    NIT Silchar is a good institute. I joined this institute through CSAB counseling. I selected this institute because of its placement record. This institute has better placement percentage than any other tier 2 institutes especially in core branches. Campus life of this institute also attracted me.     My 1st semester is passed and now I am in second semester of my first year. My overall experience of my first semester is average as few things are hectic. I got make some good and bad friends. Factor that made me choose this institute is that it lies in the northeast region of India and I wanted to experience its beauty.     I am a student at NIT Silchar pursuing B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering. Overall my experience in NIT Silchar is good. I have made lots of friends here. The reason I choose NIT Silchar is that it is very close to my home town i.e. just 8 hours and the NIRF ranking is also good.     The overall experience in NIT Silchar is not bad. I chose this Institute because it has the sports facilities and it is in my interest. The natural environment is appreciable. The placement is also decent. In NIT Silchar, ragging is strictly prohibited which lacks in many Institutes. The clubs and societies are very active helping students to showcase their talent.   • NIT Silchar Campus Size is Appromixately 625 Acres

    National Institute of Technology, Silchar has one of the most beautiful and lush green campus across all NIT's in India. Infrastructure, faculty, facilities, academics, and classrooms are very well maintained. There is the campus of 625 acres with many different things around the whole institute.
