Overall Rating
Apart from academics, IIIT Kottayam also provides good sports, gym facilities, Mess food, etc. The main feature that attracted me to choose the Institute is their placements and academic facilities and environment most Institutes do not provide. If you wish to have a good Institute life and placement, you should definitely consider this Institute along with top NITs. Our Institutes conducts events, club activities good placements which most of the Institutes today fail to provide.

Academics Rating
I chose ECE as my branch due to my keen interest in semiconductor field. Anyone who qualities JEE Main examination conducted by NTA is eligibility condition to apply for admission. Admissions are done through JoSAA and CSAB counselling. Examinations happen twice in a semester. Our teachers make us ready not only to face problems in examination but also to face real life Engineering challenges.
Fee structure in this Institute is considered a little high than average because this Institute is partially funded by private sectors and is still under development, Many scholarship facilities are available for OBC, OEC, SC, and ST students.

Faculty Rating
For my course, teachers of all courses not only are highly educated and but also have Ph.D in different domains. Teachers used a combination of blackboards, PPTs, discussion, etc for teaching. The number of teachers is less when compared to students. I have a great bonding with my teachers. One of my teachers wrote a research paper together. They will help us in all sort of activities and are highly approachable anytime.

Placement Rating
Our Institute has a Placement Cell. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, and many others are invited by the cell.

Hostel Rating
Our Institute provides great hostel and mess facilities. Girls and boys have separate hostels. First year boys usually stay outside of the campus and from second year onwards, everyone can stay inside. Hostel fee is about Rs. 30,000/- every semester and mess fees is about Rs. 25,000/- per semester. Hostel curfew for girls starts from 10 PM and for boys, its after 10:30 PM. I had a great hostel experience throughout my 3 years and we also have vending machines inside hostel.

Infrastructure Rating
Our campus has 2 academic blocks as of now and several others are under construction. Institute has great classroom facilities & almost 120 students can sit in every classroom. We also have an open air theatre, 2 gyms, 1 large Football field, Cricket ground, and several small courts for Badminton, Basketball and Kabaddi. My favorite place is the cafeteria, we have a total of 3 cafeterias inside the Institute and my favorite among them is ‘Millet café’. We also have medical facilities and medical rooms for urgent medical cases.

Campus Rating
My overall campus life is great to be frank. It mainly depends on our friend group. There are many clubs in our Institute like Drama, Dance, Wild Beats, Environment, etc. Personally, I am part of the dance club. We have 2 main events that happen every year along with other small events that happen monthly. The Techno-Cultural fest i.e., ‘Apoorv’. All together, I had a great time in my Institute thanks to my friends and teachers. I am looking forward for my final year and a good placement.

The fact that IIIT Kottayam is in Kerala was what that excited me the most and I think that this campus is worth joining among the institute s that I’ll get with my JEE score. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam is a bit smaller than what I expected but it will expand for sure and trying to accommodate more students as first years you are given hostels outside the campus and are sent to institute via a traveler.... This is a very good institute. We have many great opportunities to get a job. Don't believe negative reviews that you listen as we have great equipment in laboratories and great well enough graduated faculty. For 1st years, hostel may be outside the campus. Management will take care of that they will provide buses. If you can afford fee then joining IIITK is worth joining rather than private institutes.
