My Academic Journey with Supportive Staff of IIIT Kottayam

Overall Rating
This is a very good institute. We have many great opportunities to get a job. Don't believe negative reviews that you listen as we have great equipment in laboratories and great well enough graduated faculty. For 1st years, hostel may be outside the campus. Management will take care of that they will provide buses. If you can afford fee then joining IIITK is worth joining rather than private institutes. You will definitely have a great opportunity if you utilize it. You can travel Kerala in holidays with affordable budget.
 

Academics Rating
For first year students, the classes start at 8:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM breaks and leisure periods are given in between. Faculty is good. The standards of question paper are no less than an IIT and NIT. Many hackathons will be conducted inside the institute. You can choose technical clubs, as they will guide you to conquer your interests. Practical knowledge is acquired unlike other institutes lab exams are conducted strictly.
Fee is little bit high, that is 4 Lakh Per Annum (everything inclusive). You will not be charged for events too.
 

Faculty Rating
There is no problem with the faculty. We will be having a tutorial session in which teachers help us to do every small thing. Every faculty is graduated from well-reputed universities with PhD. We are having a digital advanced teaching in every single class and lessons are taught through power point. The teacher to student ratio is about 1 is to 60. They are very nice to students as they will not be angry even if we ask small doubts.
 

Placement Rating
There are many opportunities inside the campus. If you maintain a good CGPA then there are chances for you to get 10+ LPA package. Famous companies like Nvidia, Wipro, TCS, and Cognizant visit our campus.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, it does offer hotels. These accommodations are for boys and girls. Each room accommodates 3 members with common washroom. Rooms are adequate, but there’s scope for improvement in terms of space and amenities. Food is good. Student should be inside the hostel room before 9:30 PM. The dining facilities provide hygienic and reasonably good food.
 

Infrastructure Rating
IIIT Kottayam has a developing infrastructure, as it's a relatively new institute. The campus is located in a serene, picturesque environment, offering a peaceful atmosphere for studies. The academic block is well equipped with modern classrooms, labs, and high-speed internet connectivity, essential for tech-focused education. The library, though modest in size, provides access to digital and physical resources both.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life at IIIT Kottayam is vibrant and steadily evolving as the institute grows. The atmosphere is friendly and close-knit, as the student population is smaller compared to older institutions, fostering strong bonds among peers. Despite being located in a serene setting, students sometimes feel the lack of proximity to urban amenities. However, this peaceful environment also allows for focused academic pursuits. Weekends often include group activities, gaming, and exploring nearby places like Kumarakom.

    The fact that IIIT Kottayam is in Kerala was what that excited me the most and I think that this campus is worth joining among the institute s that I’ll get with my JEE score.
